Port Columbus International Airport

Travellers leaving Columbus, Ohio, by air will fly out of Port Columbus International Airport, located at 4600 International Gateway, about six miles east of downtown. Parking at Port Columbus International Airport

If you plan to drive yourself to the airport, you have a number of parking options. The airport offers a six-level parking garage that is connected to the terminals by a walkway. Levels three through six offer long-term parking at a rate of $17 per day. Short-term parking is located adjacent to levels four through six, and the cost is $27 per day. The airport also offers green, red, and blue long-term parking lots. The green lot is the cheapest and farthest away, charging only $4 per day. The red lot is a bit closer to the terminal and charges $6 per day. The blue lot is the closest to the terminal and charges $7 per day for the uncovered portion of the lot and $9 per day for the covered portion. There is a free shuttle service that will take you from these lots to the terminals. The blue lot offers shuttles that will pick you up and drop you off at your car.

Airport Ground Transportation

Getting to the airport is a breeze. You can take a ten-minute taxi ride from downtown for about $25. Two public bus routes stop at the airport. Route 92 runs to the airport regularly throughout the year, and Route 52 runs during school breaks. The bus fare is $2 per passenger. A dedicated airport shuttle service operated by Arch Transportation (614-252-2277) also runs from downtown to the airport every twenty minutes.

Port Columbus International Airport has a number of options for grabbing a bite to eat before your flight. Tim Hortons, Cup O' Joe, and Burger King sell coffee and pastries for morning travellers, while Charley's Grilled Subs and MoJoe Lounge offer lunch for the midday traveller.

Flying to Shannon

Travellers flying into the relatively new Irish town of Shannon will land at Shannon Airport, a little over three miles south-west of the town. The airport was founded in 1942, forty years before Shannon was given township status. Several airlines serve the airport, including British Airways, Atlasjet, and Aer Lingus. What to Do in Shannon

The summer months of July through August are the busiest for tourism in Shannon, so expect to pay more for hotel rooms and flights during these months.
