Sheraton on the Park

We arrived at 9 am and told the guy at the desk that we needed 2 beds in our room. We asked twice to make sure. He assured us that there would be 2 beds. Later in the day, when we came back to check in, we were put in a king, and there were not 2 beds in the room.

I have been staying in Sydney in hotels for a month until my appt is available and have tried the Westin and the Shangri La before the Sheraton. In my opinion the Westin is far superior not only in terms of room size but also in terms of service. In comparison with the Shangei La the room are more modern in the Sheraton (although v small) but the service again is severley lacking. As I booked through a third party the Sheraton would not give me a tax receipt for my hotel room costs. This would be OK but the third party they used did not provide a ABN number either, however, the Manager did not seem to care) which obviously means I can't claim the costs back from my company. Any items like the gym you have to pay extra which is similar to how a budget airline operates not a 5 star hotel. To be honest its for tourists, it trades on its name and my advice would be pay a little extra for the Westin where all your facilities are included and the staff are helpful.

Generally dissatsfied by the lack of service, including:- 1. Lack of bathroom amenities. No paste/brush No combs No disposal shavers (No additional soaps/shampoos were left in room for 2nd night. 2. No bedroom slippers until requested 3. No Complimentary water 4. Bed room not cleaned untl 3 pm after request 5. Bed sheets not changed

I found the Sheraton On the Park very incompetent from the moment I arrived...firstly the valet were quite abrupt,I had no offer to carry my bags to reception..When I reached reception they had no information on my booking and when it was found the booking was under my christian name and my Surname was listed as my name.Next i was handed my room key and not told where the elevators were and had to struggle with my luggage alone! My room was clean and ok,but unfortunately I had asked for a city view and found my room faced 3 buildings...NO VIEW AT ALL ! Therefore this will be my last visit to sheraton hotels and in future I will stick to Westin as I have in the past!

The "city view" room looked directly into a brick wall. The room was small, badly lit, and had cheap material (tiles in the bathroom, fixtures, and carpeting). The water pressure was also poor. However, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was easily accessible to the monorail and the free bus service (route 555). Overall, it is an acceptable hotel, but more equivalent to a three star property in the States. I have previously stayed in the Shangri-La Sysney, which was far superior for only a few dollars more.

The hotel is in a great location. It is across the street from a beautiful park, within walking distance of Central Quay, has wonderful shops around it, and is close to museums and other points of interest. It is within walking distance of anywhere you would like to go.

Stayed for 4 nights over Christmas. The Hotel was full & staff stretched to the max. We had a cleaning towel left in our vanity sink one day & another day one of our used bath towels was left in the corner. The breakfast was feral, way too crowded & after lining up for everything the selection was mediocre, they ran out of room & had to overflow guests into a freezing conference room with a limited buffet. Location great but very disappointed.

The King room with park views was delightful. The hotel is perfectly located for shopping. It was great to be able to have our car there and pick it up well after checkout time. The only "downer" was the whiskey sour at the bar, which wasn't made correctly.

Not happy with the towels and lack of facewashers. the executive club - well its over sold - service is bad and the food selection (breakfast) ordinary - wont go back again.

The room was on the 9th floor facing north and was like a concrete cell. Our windows faced another brick wall 1 metre away adding to the effect of a characterless room. The floor had bits of debris not cleaned away and some of the bathroom black tiles had a white soapy haze over them that looked less than clean and a bit yucky. I think there are better value deals out there. The hotel pool was nice though.
