Art Series - The Olsen is all about landscapes -- that is, the landscape artist Dr. John Olsen. The property revolves around so many of Olsen's murals, photographs and sculptures that the lodging is almost secondary. Located in arty South Yarra neighborhood, the all-suite boutique hotel features spacious accommodations, an on-site day spa, and a glass-bottomed swimming pool. Two on-site restaurants serve Mediterranean cuisine and steak, respectively.

Very nice hotel.. Interior very chic.. It is rightful to say that this is truely an artistic hotel.. Room is very modern, furnishings are new! The nicest pillows ive ever slept on! Had trouble with operating the Tv but in the end it was fine. Friendly, professional and helpful staff!

The room was of a reasonable size,
The room was of a reasonable size, made to appear smaller due to a large and very comfortable leather chair and footstool. A pillow menu is also a good option. The bathroom was small to the point of having nowhere to put even the smallest toiletries bag apart from the closed toilet seat and the bed was comfortable but a little soft for my liking - one person rolling over jiggled the bed sufficiently to waken the other. On the plus side, the rooms are really nicely appointed and the position in Chappel St is hard to beat and still only a $10 cab ride from the centre of the city. Staff were friendly without being overbearing. Would definitley be happy to stay there again.

This is my favourite hotel in Melbourne. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have an airport shuttle service which is reasonably priced. On this trip I introduced my son to The Olsen and he is equally impressed.

Something different!
The Olsen had a warm atmosphere and very pleasant staff. I found it to be well priced and considered it good value. I appreciated the self parking option at a reasonable rate. The location was great with many options for dining (fine and family) and various shops on both Chapel Street and Toorak Road. The Botanical Gardens and the Yarra river parklands were also close by. Finding fault is difficult but I would have liked to have the option to re-use towels rather than hve them changed daily.

Although I had a car, I walked and used trains and trams. There was road work in the area and consequently, traffic was congested. Even without traffic issues, this hotel is well located for public transport together with shopping, dining and leisure walks.
