History lives at Melbourne’s Grand Victorian hotel
Built in 1883, the Hotel Windsor Melbourne is considered Melbourne's original Grand Victorian hotel. Today, the property is the city's only 5-star Victorian hotel, combining historic elegance with modern comfort. Within walking distance of the Parliament House and Rod Laver Arena, the hotel boasts spacious and bright rooms equipped with period furniture with high-tech conveniences. The all-day restaurant, 111 Spring Street, offers a pre-theater menu. The property also serves traditional afternoon tea.

A beautiful character hotel with
A beautiful character hotel with interesting tiling and very wide corridors. Doors can be a little noisy at night but I have now stayed twice this year and will make it my regular Melbourne hotel.

Great location just on the fringe
Great location just on the fringe of the CBD but near the free tram. Rooms are small but delightful in the older style, s real treat to stay here.

The Hotel is a good tradtional
The Hotel is a good tradtional old one and very attractive inside with a beautiful staircase. It was a peaceful part of town to be based with very little noise in the evening. It is however in need of refurbishment- the corridor on the floor we stayed had a musty smell (a bit like going to you Grandma's) and the vents in our bedroom and bathroom were very dirty and not what I would expect from a 5 start hotel

This hotel really does still know
This hotel really does still know what service is. The staff care about you - they don't just parrot pleasant phrases they memorised under duress in some staff seminar. In Melbourne I would not consider staying anywhere else ever, it was a pleasure staying at the Windsor.

I stayed with my daughter and
I stayed with my daughter and it was our 1st time in Melbourne. The hotel was across the road from the park and close to the City Circle Tram stop. We stayed in a Superior room and it was quiet and spacious but the window looked into the centre of the building (the glass was frosted) I would have preferred a window with some sort of view so I could see if it was raining or not. It was the 1st time I have stayed in a 5 Star so have nothing to compare. We enjoyed the luxury of the Hotels service and interior and the staff were friendly.
