History lives at Melbourne’s Grand Victorian hotel
Built in 1883, the Hotel Windsor Melbourne is considered Melbourne's original Grand Victorian hotel. Today, the property is the city's only 5-star Victorian hotel, combining historic elegance with modern comfort. SEX IN THE CITY GIRLS WEEKEND
MY FRIEND AND I STAYED FOR A WEEKEND. THE FIRST ROOM WAS SMALL AND DINGY WITH BATH STAINS AND DUSTY. THE VIEW WAS A BRICK WALL. WE COMPLAINED AND WHERE TOLD THERE WHERE OTHER BETTER STANDARD ROOMS.I THOUGHT WHY GIVE US A ROTTEN ONE THEN. WE WHERE MOVED TO A SUPERIOR STANDARD WHICH WAS CLEANER AND A BIT BIGGER. THERE ARE NO FACILITIES IN THIS HOTEL. IE. SWIM OR SPA ECT. IT WAS FAIRLY CENTRAL BUT NOT A 5 STAR

This hotel has always been known
This hotel has always been known as plush and luxuious. What I found was shabby furniture and walls. Bath stained and yellow with blocked drain. Shower tap feel off in my hand. The restruant was overpriced an the meals appeared to have been bused in from a chinese restruant. Breakfast was very nice and the bed was comfortable. No one used my name and my check out bill was made out to Mr not Ms. I was assured my car would be waiting for me out the front of the hotel if I gave 15 mins notice. I did this and had to wait for 20 minutes in the street. Overall would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone. I am certainly glad I did not pay the asking price of over $500 for the night.

Location is good but just found
Location is good but just found it to be an old atmosphere. The rooms really need a full makeover for the price you have to pay. Car Parking service let me down and they did refund the money. Rang 45 mins in advance to when I wanted my car, came out and it wasn't there for me, they were about to leave to go and collect my car - hence late for my meeting so book well in advance and make sure they take the right keys which was the error with me. Another lady's car was out the front but they took her keys to collect my car, hence she was also late to her meeting. Reception staff and asking for a late meal the service was great.

Excellent hotel in great location
Truly superior helpful staff. Great location on three tram lines, including the free City Circle tram. Beautiful old building in good shape. Internet connection in the room was lousy, both wired and wireless, but for me that's a minor issue (and an Internet-connected computer with printer is available for free use in the lobby).

Get a Metcard daily pass from any 7/11 store for Australian $6.80 and travel all over the city on the extensive tram system. Trams run like clockwork and go within a few blocks of anywhere I wanted to be.

Three Nights in Melbourne
Hotel is pretty high-end. Wish they had a better gym and better (i.e.: free) internet access. Other than that, it is well located and accomodating.

Interesting interior, rooms are
Interesting interior, rooms are a little shabby, no spare blankets or electric blankets in the room in late May (late autumn-early winter), even though the hotel does not turn on the central heating system until June. There are better choices for the same 4-5 star range in the same location in Central Melbourne.

The old world charm was different
The old world charm was different however the creaking floors and oddly placed light switches was disturbing. Getting stuck in the lift was also a new experience. The TV and movie set up was also old and did not work one night.

Great location just on the fringe
Great location just on the fringe of the CBD but near the free tram. Rooms are small but delightful in the older style, s real treat to stay here.
