Good for adult travelers
Quiet but close to transportation and to major downtown streets with plenty of restaurants; in room coffee and refrigerator allowed us to breakfast in the room. Good-sized room, good bad. Appreciated the Business Center, which allowed us complimentary use of internet on hotel monitors, since we don't like to travel with our laptop.

The Adventure Continues Baileys
Great hotel, restaurant and location
As soon as our Skybus arrived, [...]grabbed our heavier bags and brought them to the front desk reception, then took his place behind the desk and doubled as our Receptionist. Not only did he check us in efficiently, he then took out a very good map of Melbourne and started marking it to indicate where we were, what he thought we would like to see, and then asked what else we were interested in. He marked more places on the map, including dining Alfresco, Spanish, Chinese and Italian. He informed us that the buffet breakfast would be discounted if we made a reservation the night before. He asked which of the 5 newspapers we would like delivered to our door each morning and then assured us our luggage would be brought to our room promptly. Yes it was. By the time we found our way down the end of the hall to our room our bags were right behind us. I threw back the drapes to find our view is mostly new construction high-rises, but we can see the downtown if we stand to the left. We have a king-sized bed and a little round table as well as a computer desk and chair and Sharp HDTV with what appears to be about 10 stations, plus lots of sports stations. There are a few drawers under the TV and we both have night stands. There is a mini-bar and lots of shelves above that. We have a closet with an in-room safe and lots of room for hanging clothes. The bathroom has no storage but has a good sized counter, sink and a modern shower. The Radisson Hotel faces the beautiful Flagstaff Gardens. To the right of the hotel, after the Christmas Store, is the Queen Victoria Market, a 125 year old historic landmark, that is only open specific days of the week. The 'Free Bus' also stops between the market and the hotel to whisk us away to many popular areas of the city. The first night of our stay we dined in the HQ on William's Restaurant downstairs. We sat by the front window facing west, watching the sunset over Flagstaff Gardens and enjoyed a wonderful meal and good service. Our room here at the Radisson is warm and well-cleaned. We have found local restaurants for various meals and fresh bread and meats at the market to dine in our room when it is too cold to go out. The free internet worked perfectly. The hotel provided us with a converter that worked too. Yayy! When I didn't feel like pulling the laptop out I used the free Business Center, especially to print out itineraries. And, if you really enjoy sunsets, do as we did. Go upstairs to the rooftop pool and enjoy the spectacular view.Even when we were ready to board our Skybus back to the airport the concierge and front desk people could not do enough for us. They took time to print out our next flight's tickets and itinerary. We left feeling like royalty.

Short walk from hotel
The Tourist Free Shuttle is steps from the front door of the hotel and runs at reasonable hours, is extremely clean and driven by hospitable drivers that take good care of people visiting the city. We also found fast food and local restaurants that appreciated our business very much. The flea market next door also serves as a great place to collect souvenirs and to grab tasty snacks.

Nice hotel
Nice hotel. Located on the edge of the city away from the hustle and bustle ... yet still close enough to be right in the heart within minutes. The concierge and other staff were very helpful in planning activities. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Short walk from hotel
If you leave hotel and walk to right, directly in front of Queen Victoria Market, there is a free tram (bus) which comes by every 20 minutes or so and takes travellers around the city to all the different neighborhoods and attractions. It is completely free... there is a map on board to show you where the bus goes so it is easy to plan. There is also a cable car which does the same but does not cover as much ground and does not stop near this hotel.

Nice Hotel, Though a Bit Far from CBD
The hotel was nice, rooms were pretty big and clean. Staff was exceptional. Concierge and reception were very friendly, warm, and welcoming. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping the rooms clean, toiletries and towels available. The entire hotel is non-smoking, which was a definitely PLUS for us. No complaints about the hotel. Only issue was location. It was a bit far from the CBD, so we almost always had to take transportation. Good thing is the free city circle tram is close by, but it stops running after 6pm. Very close to the Queen Victoria Market. If you plan to go there a lot, then this hotel is perfect. Overall, excellent hotel and I would recommend staying here.

Rent a car, or take a tour to go outside of Melbourne. We took 2 tours to Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island to see the penguin parade. Both excellent.

We stayed 3 nights at the Radisson,
We stayed 3 nights at the Radisson, myself and my 2 adult daughters. The Staff at Reception were outstanding and did everything they could to help us. The restaurant was great, breakfast was wonderful and the staff a delight. The hotel is so handy to everything, the tram runs outside the hotel, the free circle tram is at the corner and Melbourne Central is a 10 minute walk as is the Victoria Market. My husband and I stay in Melbourne about 3-4 times a year and we would most definatly stay at the Radisson on future visits.
