Radisson on Flagstaff
We asked for 2 beds but got one so had to move to another room with lesser view (construction). The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. It is located in business district with very few dining options after 3 pm because everything closes. Free trolleys were good option to go to other parts of city for dinner options. We did not eat the hotel but found it busy during cocktail hours each day. This hotel was much nicer than we expected and they were eager to serve.

great value and location
A five minute walk from Queen Victoria market - right across from a beautiful park, extremely clean and comfortable, who could ask for more? The price is right for this place! Oh, and the restaurant was awesome. If you don't want to shop at the market, you are minutes from other downtown activities. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great location - Great price!
This hotel was perfect - near the CBD but not smack in the middle of the CBD - directly across the street from beautiful Flagstaff Gardens. Our view of the Gardens (and city skyline) was terrific! The service was amazing from the reception desk, restaurant employees, and especially the concierge (they were wonderful - extremely helpful and accommodating). They were happy to answer any and all questions about the various sights, eating establishments, places to shop, transportation, etc., which was particularly important to us as first-time visitors. The rooms were quiet and peaceful and yet we were only a short walk from the free city tram (hop on and hop off) that runs around the city (clockwise and counter-clockwise) with frequent stops at points of interest. The very large hot tub and fitness center were on the top floor with a fantastic view of the city - pretty amazing. I would definitely recommend this super hotel!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Right around the corner from the Radisson was a little cafe called "The Lunchroom" that had great food at a reasonable price. They served breakfast and lunch, and we ate there several times, mainly because it was convenient but also because the employees were wonderful and very accommodating.

The Adventure Continues Baileys
Great hotel, restaurant and location
As soon as our Skybus arrived, [...]grabbed our heavier bags and brought them to the front desk reception, then took his place behind the desk and doubled as our Receptionist. Not only did he check us in efficiently, he then took out a very good map of Melbourne and started marking it to indicate where we were, what he thought we would like to see, and then asked what else we were interested in. He marked more places on the map, including dining Alfresco, Spanish, Chinese and Italian. He informed us that the buffet breakfast would be discounted if we made a reservation the night before. He asked which of the 5 newspapers we would like delivered to our door each morning and then assured us our luggage would be brought to our room promptly. Yes it was. By the time we found our way down the end of the hall to our room our bags were right behind us. I threw back the drapes to find our view is mostly new construction high-rises, but we can see the downtown if we stand to the left. We have a king-sized bed and a little round table as well as a computer desk and chair and Sharp HDTV with what appears to be about 10 stations, plus lots of sports stations. There are a few drawers under the TV and we both have night stands. There is a mini-bar and lots of shelves above that. We have a closet with an in-room safe and lots of room for hanging clothes. The bathroom has no storage but has a good sized counter, sink and a modern shower. The Radisson Hotel faces the beautiful Flagstaff Gardens. To the right of the hotel, after the Christmas Store, is the Queen Victoria Market, a 125 year old historic landmark, that is only open specific days of the week. The 'Free Bus' also stops between the market and the hotel to whisk us away to many popular areas of the city. The first night of our stay we dined in the HQ on William's Restaurant downstairs. We sat by the front window facing west, watching the sunset over Flagstaff Gardens and enjoyed a wonderful meal and good service. Our room here at the Radisson is warm and well-cleaned. We have found local restaurants for various meals and fresh bread and meats at the market to dine in our room when it is too cold to go out. The free internet worked perfectly. The hotel provided us with a converter that worked too. Yayy! When I didn't feel like pulling the laptop out I used the free Business Center, especially to print out itineraries. And, if you really enjoy sunsets, do as we did. Go upstairs to the rooftop pool and enjoy the spectacular view.Even when we were ready to board our Skybus back to the airport the concierge and front desk people could not do enough for us. They took time to print out our next flight's tickets and itinerary. We left feeling like royalty.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Tourist Free Shuttle is steps from the front door of the hotel and runs at reasonable hours, is extremely clean and driven by hospitable drivers that take good care of people visiting the city. We also found fast food and local restaurants that appreciated our business very much. The flea market next door also serves as a great place to collect souvenirs and to grab tasty snacks.

Over alll a lovely hotel, good
Over alll a lovely hotel, good loaction and facilities. No complaints, however, when we asked about car parking, the reception told us that there was only valet parking - at $25/night, it was a little expensive, I thought, especially when we didn't need the car for the night. After we got to our room, though, we discovered that there was a "parking station" available nearby( printed on the card- key case!) no doubt for less charges!

I stayed with my g/f at the radisson
I stayed with my g/f at the radisson and it was great. The hotel is very clean and the service is top notch, especially from the guys at concierge, they were awesome and very friendly. Only complaint i have ,was that i was in a premium roon and the room wasnt very large. The price of 199 seemed steep for a room that was the size of a standard room.Although its next to the markets,it can be a bit of trip to head into town. Otherwise i would stay there again.4.5 stars from me.

On arrival the reception staff
On arrival the reception staff were so helpful and the concierge gave us some really good tips for our stay in Melbourne. Couldn't fault the service or the room, unfortunately a wild storm meant we couldn't use the gym as it flooded but that was unavoidable in the circumstances! The spa looked really inviting! The bar/restaurant was really great too. We look forward to staying again.
