Charming Family Run Hotel

Hotel Leipziger Hof is a charming family owned/run hotel close to the Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof and adjacent to a tram stop. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and if your German is nicht so gut, don't despair, they speak perfect English. The room offered all of the basic amenities and was comfortable. This would be a great hotel for those expecting old world charm.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The Nordkettenbahn station is a short walk from the hotel and goes up to Seegrube and Hafelekar.

Seriously best hotel breakfast ever!

I know it's silly, but the breakfast was amazing and had a ton to choose from. There was a complimentary coffee and hot chocolate bar 24/7 which was clutch when getting back from the slopes. The rooms were too hot due to automatic heaters, but there was a huge window in the room. The free public transportation for people in snow gear made it really easy to get to where we wanted to board and there were plenty of places to choose from! There was wifi and beautiful views of the Alps. It was right next to a park with a little skate rink in a quiet neighborhood, but close enough to walk to the center of town. The city was kind of small and didn't have any night life, but we went for the snow anyway! Oh, and it was really easy to get in and out of town by train.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Town center is so close it's a waste of money to pay for transportation! That is, unless your luggage is too heavy. Then it's a 5.5 euro ride to the train station. Breakfast was a big saver too. That helped save some time and money in the morning!

This a perfectly good hotel -

This a perfectly good hotel - the location and facilitities answer well the state of maintenance is good. The restaurant provides good food and service. The staff were polite, friendly and professional. The room I had was not precisely what I booked - single rather than a twin room - but as I was travelling alone that actually suited me better giving more space to move around. Although the room was quite within the hotel the external noise isolation was struggling to cope with the air-traffic which tends to go over the central city in Innsbruck. The bathroom was obviously recently refurbished with quality fittings and was only let down by the width of space to get to the toilet - I am slim but broad shouldered and had barely enough space after hunching myself up. Overall - I would say "not perfect" but "very good" and value for money it is on the mark. I would stay there again.
