Hotel Prinz Eugen

Could not find our booking on arrival. Room was not as expected. Hotel staff not very helpful everything was too much trouble. Bar never open even had trouble getting a cup of coffee as staff did not want to do it. When asked where we could have lunch on the first day we was sent on a long walk when there was restaurants a few doors away.

Good location, clean rooms, if a little dated, no free wifi, which was a disappointment but EUR10 for 24 hours isn't bad. Breakfast was good.

Good - simple rooms. Really enjoyed the breakfast - better than average! It was good location, close to transportation stops to get to the center.

All I require of a hotel is to be clean, staffed by helpful people, close to public transportation, not too far from the city center, and reasonably priced. Hotel Prinz Eugen met all of these criteria, besides providing a breakfast buffet that kept me going until well past lunchtime. My double room had an en suite shower/toilet, very important to me. While the price wasn't down to my cheapo standards, I thought it was very good for a 4-star hotel in a major European city. My only gripe--a small one-- was that Wi-Fi wasn't free.

It was a good hotel, near to the city center and near to metro station if you don't want to walk at all. The room was small, but clean. The breakfast was excellent!

I wouldn't stay here again. The room was quite basic and very dated. I certainly wouldn't expect this to be on the "recommended list" from (website)

The Prinz Eugen room was small, but clean and generally comfortable. The only issue was lack of air conditioning on a hot, humid day. Location was excellent for getting early morning transport to the airport in the morning and for the train and tram. It is just across the street from the Subabanhoff train station. Staff was very friendly, but their service did not live up to their attitude. Because breakfast was included with our room and we had to leave for the airport before it was served in the morning, the staff volunteered to put together a box breakfast for us to take with us. That was a wonderful offer, however, in the morning when we were leaving, they found no record of the request -- so we had to leave without. Also, we ordered an ice bucket delivered to our room that never arrived. Overall, I believe it was good value, and the staff had the desire to please, even if the execution was off. It is hard to judge on our brief stay, as we were only looking for one night's lodging before an early flight.

The Prinz Eugen is a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. It's two blocks to the underground, across the street from a trolley stop, the airport bus, and the train station for trains to Budapest or Bratislava. It was an ideal base camp to see Vienna and near-by cities. The included breakfast was a real plus in this expensive city. All the staff members were helpful and you can book tours etc. through the front desk. There is no air conditioning but we were comfortable with inside rooms even with temps reaching the low 90?s. If you want American style rooms and amenities this isn?t for you, but if you want clean, convenient accommodations at a reasonably price it is.

Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer zu einer stark befahrenen Straße war in Ordnung, aber bei geöffnetem Fenster schlafen war undenkbar. Im Frühling hätte man aber gerne Frischluft. Die ganze Nacht die Klimaanlage laufen zu lassen, ist auch nichts. Also muss man sich für das kleinste Übel entscheiden. Das war in unserem Fall nachts desöfteren aufstehen und die Klimaanlage an und aus machen... Nicht sehr erholsam. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel sind gut zu erreichen. Das Frühstück könnte tatsächlich üppiger ausfallen in einem 4*-Hotel. Ich habe es aber auch schon schlechter erlebt. In jedem Fall sollte es abwechslungsreicher sein.
