Had a great time.....super location on Paradise Island....within walking distance of Atlantis (where we left behind way to much money at the casino)...spectacular food for an all inclusive.....poolside bar staff out of this world (despite the bachelor party that showed up)

Be careful about CHEAP Vacations

Airline overbooked seats by 10 passengers. Not smart during Spring Break. Missed one day of vaction. Then we could not check into our hotel util 4 PM next day, even tho we had paid for the night before, so you would think they would have had 2 extra rooms. Will never book a trip with Spirit air, they charge for EVERYTHING!!!

The hotel is a short walk to the casino, ferry to downtown and Paradise Island shopping. The supper food buffet could have been better with more variety.

Hardcore Honeymoon

For a hardcore honeymoon on a budget, this was fantastic. We booked a room with a view of the harbor which at night is great. At the price we were able to stay an extra night and do some extra local attractions. The food was very good, and the dining room experience can be rated at 4 stars. The chef and staff prepare some of the best and different food I have had in a long time. Room was nice and clean with very good maid service. Do keep the door to outside closed as the room will get wet very quick as the hotel suggest. Staff was very positive and we were treated very well. Location is off the main drag which kept noise down. Pool and hot tub was kept clean. The hot tub is kept at the right temp to enjoy a few cold beers. Hotel offers activities during the day and night if you choose to be a part of them. We had a blast. Would we stay here again? Yes! The money saved will allow for more days and nights along with additional tours and things to do without killing your pocketbook. One note. We did book in between spingbreaks and this was a great option.

I would like to rate it a solid 4 but...

We went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Our room was spacious & kept very clean. Bathroom ceiling tiles were wet. The Spring break students staying at there may have had the “Ultimate experience” but at the cost of everyone else’s. We were only able to get 2 out of 7 nights sleep. Partying in the halls until 430am, Beer cans littering the hallways, turning on the fire alarms at 1230am, calling our room 5 times after midnight in the same night looking for Matt, smashing ceiling tiles (or tearing down the remaining ones) the in the hallways and breaking furniture on level 5,6,7,9,10 (that I am aware of), slamming doors at all hours, screaming fights- mostly using one syllable words (2 if you add the ing) in the middle of the day. Late night smoking party in a non smoking room that was not (per the front desk) occupied. A room switch was offer but was totally pointless for the problem seemed to be on every floor. There is a time and place for everything. We don’t begrudge the rowdy parties in the proper setting (poolside or lobby not the hallways) 130-200 am maybe but not till 430am. If they want to get so plastered they don’t even know their own names or who they were with, that’s up to them. If they leave a closet full of miscellaneous clothing on the beach along with all their trash every night – so be it. PIHR worked very hard every morning to make the beach & pool areas presentable for the families. A plethora of complaints were made by the nonstudent guests to the front desk (never mind all the calls during the night) with little sucess. We are aware a few students were sent home. Security worked over time. Still if this behavior is not acceptable at home – why should it be condone & encouraged here? PIHR should not be expected to babysit these children nor should we have to suffer these little children. Where were the XXX staff??? Talking with the other guests from Germany Canada and the US, we were embarrassed to say we were Americans. I have stayed in 3rd world countries were I felt safer. It was clever to let the Spring breakers come – damage the facilities so their parents pay for the renovations but some warning should have been given to the guests who are quiet & polite. We spent over $XXXX.oo for this special getaway that was completely ruin by uncontrolled nocturnal shenanigans. Family-oriented? I don't think so! Thank you for our “Ultimate experience nightmare”

DON"T GO THERE ANY TIME CLOSE TO SPRING BREAK - resort has a bad spring break history thru out the island - Robinson Caruso was fun & zoo too. ferry shuttle sched is more a guideline than fact. people off the resort were super friendly - felt safe even when lost on scooters (safer than at the resort)(grin) buffet as good as other food on island (except fried things) Casino better luck in AM than PM. mini reef on premise had lots of different fish - walk railings need to be fixed. front desk said they would send a gift basket for our anniverary but it never showed.they also told us there was a taxi available from 3am on - NOT TRUE. twice was told it was 5 minutes away - 25 minutes it still wasn't there. room & bar staff were super troopers. plenty of towels & no problems getting a beach chair.

Read all reviews!!!!!

Let me start by saying--READ ALL REVIEWS. We had read some bad reviews but I wonder what some people expect. The price is very good and our spacious room was excellent and we had a wonderful view. The rooms are clean, basic, and ideal. It's an old hotel is all. If you are expecting anything different, this is not the place for you. Check in was no problem at all, we actually told the clerk we paid extra for a balcony room and he gave us one, no prob. The pool and small beach area were just fine. Yeah the view of the ports are not the best, but it's an island, everything needs to be imported. Food at the buffet was to be expected. There was something for everyone but i have to say the outside bar/rest was the best, which is where we ate lunch and late afternoon snack, food cooked to order and absolutly delish.. I also have to agree with the other reviewers about the breakfast, the omlete and waffle station were great. Our only complaint goes to the "fancy" rest. HORRIBLE service. They had 3 waitstaff working and there was only 6 other tables occupied. After 15 minutes of waiting for him to come and pick up our plates after diner we actually got up and walked out and went next door to the buffet to get dessert. We took the Robinson Corusoe tour booked through the hotel which was really great. We walked over the bridge into Nassua and took the bus to the Straw Market, felt completly safe. We actually had people on 2 different occasions just stop and ask us if they could help (we must have looked lost). All in all, a great vacation.

January Stay

Our first room was a little musty but we were moved to a pool view room with balcony and not charged for this when we could of been. The rooms were immaculatley clean and the maids were polite. The pool was chilly so the ocean was better. The outside bar had a strong anticeptic odor but you knew it was clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful, our two year old "Dallas" had the run of the hotel and all the staff looked out for him. He still asks about certain staff members. We loved it so much we purchased a timeshare that was arranged by the hotel staff and it was not a pushy high pressure pitch. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back in February. This is not Atlantis but it is a great affordable hotel.

Great vacation value

After reading some of the reviews about this hotel we were a little hesitant prior to our trip. Even though it is not a glamorous hotel and there is some minor maintainance issue throughout (bathroom in the room needed work), the staff was very friendly, the rooms were always clean, the nightly buffet had a different theme every day which the food was good. There was always some sort of nightly entertainment (some nights much better than others), but we sat at the indoor bar drank our all-inclusive drinks and enjoyed the entertainment while we talked about the day events and made plans for the next day. There is also a reservation only resturant that serves steaks and such that is very good and is included in the package. Our trip was in Jan. 09 where daytime temps were in the mid 70s. which was perfect for us as we came down from MN. and it was -22 the day we left. The pool looked very nice and inviting, but with the cooler daily temps the pool water was very cold, but the hot tub was hot and fabulous. A five minute walk to the Atlantis at a fraction of the cost. The beach is on the harbour side which could be an issue if you are looking to be on the ocean, but again there is a oceanside public beach within a five minute walk to the other side of the island. I would definitely would stay again.

If you have a day and are looking for a great adventure, book a trip with Dolphin Experience which is located right next to the bridge going back to Nassau. It is a boat ride to a private island (20 min ride) where you swim with the dolphins and even get a foot-push ride across the pool about half a football field. We booked the early afternoon time, but took the morning boat so that we could use the beach there to swim and snorkel (must bring your own gear). The beach was in it's own lagoon that was wonderful. This experience is a once in a lifetime and it does cost some money. From what others said this dolphin experience is far better than the other one being offered on Paradise Island.

The Paradise Island ...

The Paradise Island Harbour Resort..was an older hotel especially the rooms. The food was pretty good lots to choose from at the buffet.... The pool at the hotel was a bit to cold to swim in but there were others in it. This hotel is good for people who want to see the island on a stick budget! Its very close the the famous Atlantis hotel which is about three times the cost and then add food. I was hoping there would be more activities or more active fun staff around in the evening with activities..but there wasnt much so we spent most evenings at a neighbouring hotel. All in all we had a good trip.

The famous Atlantis hotel is 5-10 min walk away where there is swimming with the dolphins, a huge waterpark, a huge aquarium, a private beach, casino, all the expensive shops, fine dining and cheaper on the go food as well.
