Arena Copacabana Hotel

The location is perfect, right in the heart of Copacabana. Safe neighborhood. Helpful staff. A bit pricey though.

Wonderful room, free breakfast, service, etc. Pool closed too early (10:30 PM). No empty refrigerator available tio cool personal items. No free use of computer for guests. 0.40 per minute use of computer time too expensive.

This hotel is very conveniently placed right in the center of the beach and tons of restaurants. The staff is friendly but for English speaking guests, sometimes it can be a bit difficult to communicate or get full responses. Also, the one other downfall, the entire week we were there - there was only one working elevator, they never fixed the other one the entire week we were there! Aside from that we had a great view and clean rooms. I would definately recommend the hotel to others.

Perfectly okay hotel, nothing special. But maybe it is for Rio. Good location with great views from rooftop bar and pool. No irons or boards available in South America and the charge for a flimsy dress to be ironed was $12. Plus $15 a day for internet, which is not too reliable. Breakfast not bad with plenty of variety. Better to use travel agent on corner for any tours, as they are much more knowledgeable than the hotel.

My experience at Arena very good..The staff downstairs was execellent. The older gentleman behind the desk spoke very good english and helped me in finding my wallet which I had lost upon arriving at the hotel..He was so kind in calling the taxi-cab company which I thought was where I had lost it however he called the airlines also and was able to locate it. I had lost it on the plane. If it wasn't for him my vacation would have been ruined.. I would definately go back to the Arena. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the a/c in the hallways could have been better. The pool up on the roof top was small but very nice...We really enjoyed our stay there...

Great location, right across the street from Copacabana Beach.. Many restaurant choices around the neighborhood. Fantastic ocean view from room.. Especially the sunrise. Great terrace pool with beautiful view of the beach scene. Nice breakfast buffet with varieties.

After a long flight from Sydney it was a pleasure to walk into nice modern hotel with helpful staff and clean rooms overlooking the famous Copacabana Beach. The roof top bar was a great place to have sundowners and a snack. Our few days at the Arena were very enjoyable.

The staff is really friendly, and very well located

I was in Rio for 24 hours and wanted to be near the water and in a safe, business-friendly environment. The hotel is clean and green (environmentally speaking). Because I speak no Portuguese, it was very helpful the staff spoke English and were very helpful as I tried to navigate the neighborhood. The rooftop balcony was a lovely place to end the day with a cocktail overlooking the beachfront and the skyline. Breakfast buffet was hearty and delicious. Disappointed that for the price of the room, wi-fi is an additional charge. The clientele felt very business-oriented. I'd definitely return.

Overall this is a nice hotel. It's right on the beach and our room had a direct view of the water. Breakfast is OK, perhaps somewhat limited compared to other places. It's closer to the north end of Copacabana so it's a 30 min walk if you also want to visit the Ipanema and Leblon beaches. All the staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful with local arrangements (airport pickup, local tours) and even loaned us an adapter for our 110 V plug. Be warned that the price is on the higher side though.
