Great Location
The hotel had atmosphere, was comfortable, great service in bar, restaurant and reception. Enjoyed the heated swimming pool. Location was convenient for downtown business meetings.

Thanks to Orbitz rate, a total steal for luxurious surroundings!
Our room had the most incredible river view and the terrasse brunch at the hotel was just as memorable. We couldn't be more satisfied for the price. We paid a mere $130 vs the usual $180 rate. The bathroom was the one aspect of the room that was dated and more motel than hotel. We didn't make it to the gym, but friends said they were impressed. Though the lobby isn't spacious, the bar/lounge/restaurant was open, charming and made us feel like we were in the French Riviera.

Relaxing Get-Away
The Hotel Macdonald was friendly, clean and efficient. We checked into the room early with no problem. The room was very quiet and the view was beautiful; we really enjoyed it as we ate our breakfast inroom - great breakfast, beautifully presented. We had lunch on the patio which had the same superb view and fantastic service! I think if you want to get-away to the city of Edmonton, this is the place to stay - you are right downtown, we went to the Winspear Theatre for a jazz concert and walked within minutes.

We loved the hotel lounge after returning from the concert we had delicious snacks and the best dirty martini while we people watched (a busy place for a Tuesday night).
