Byward Blue Inn

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Byward Blue. The staff were pleasant and helpful. They recommended an awesome restaurant (Mama Grazzi's) nearby. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good! Would definately stay there again!

Older hotel. Comfortable room. Liked the wood floor, balcony and kitchenette with small refrigerator and microwave. Location is in a quiet, residential section of Clarence Street but is only a block away from many pubs, diners and other shops. Twenty minute or less walk to Parliament Hill and National Gallery. Limited parking available at the hotel, but public garage 1/2 block west with reasonable rate ($8.00/day). Window A.C. was barely adequate for the temperatures in July, but balcony door allowed fresh air which was nice. Enjoyed our stay.

This hotel reminded us of some of the nicer Pensions we stayed in France and Italy. Staff is kind, friendly and very helpful. The location is half a block from the restaurants, bars, and shops of By Ward Market, and just a 15 minute walk to the National Art Gallery, the National Art Center, the canal. We parked in the City Garage next door, and never had to use the car for three days. We suggest you ask for a room on the 5th floor, in the rear. There you will have shade in the morning on your balcony, to drink your coffee and check your iPad.

I stayed in other hotels in Ottawa as well but this hotel is best of all. especially comfortable room with best breakfast included and also eve snacks. It is walkable distance to the mall and consulates as well

We arrived at 3 PM and were told to return at 4 PM which we did. We checked in and the room they gave us had not been cleaned and the bed was not made. We were told there were no other rooms and that they would send up the housekeeper right away. We waited an hour and no one showed up. We went back to the front desk and were assigned another room. It was a very disappointing beginning to our week end but everything was OK from then on.

Very nice, excellent staff and nice atmosphire, the only problem I did have was my car was damaged in the parking lot.

This is an excellent location, close to Byward Market, great restaurants and parlliament. There is parking under the Inn which is a help.

this was an unpretentious comfortable place to stay, well located and excellent value rough orbits, friendly homey feel. Free continental breakfast. Not worth the extra five bucks for the warm breakfast, generally canned eggs and soggy bacon, the rooms were well serviced, good cable tv, hot strong showers, good towels. Free hotel wide wifi. All in all an excellent place to stay. No complaints.

For a city location, it's great - right next to the Byward Market, and an easy walk to Parliament Hill. Room is okay, but a little small. Breakfast is very basic, and they charge an extra $5 for hot stuff. Afternoon snacks are nice. My 3 stars is because it's pretty basic, but for the price in the city, it's fine.
