Best Accomm Shaimin Is Guangzhou

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Guangdong Victory Hotel. We initially booked a room in the East Wing but since we had stayed at the West Wing (Annex) twice before, we upgraded; (previously the Annex was less expensive than the East Wing high rise). We like the Annex (recently renovated) as it is has an intimate boutique feeling. The rooms are clean, and very spacious with a small sitting room. We also had free internet access with hotel laptop computer in our room. The only complaint would be low lighting and dusty streets (while we were there) due to work on building renovations and water line upgrade. Location is great-within walking distance to Metro Huangsha stop, Shangjiu Lu Pedestrian/ Shopping Street, to fish market and Qingping Market (dried herbs, mushrooms, plants, birds, turtles, etc.) We will stay at the Guangdong Victory Hotel next time we visit Guangzhou.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Take good walking shoes and a shopping bag. Use the ATM for best foreign currency exchange. Walk across the bridge to see all the markets, shops, and sights, or catch the metro to the tourist attractions.

Perfect location for western people,

Perfect location for western people, as the hotel is situated on the quiet and westernly inspired Shamian Island. You could reach almost th entire city for less than 7 USD by a cab. Hotel was old, though stylish with clean and spacious rooms. Ok value for the price

Great Hotel, especially West Building

Great Hotel, especially West Building that is all newly renovated and has larger rooms, small difference in price is worth paying. Shamian Island is probably the only part of Guangzhou that could be called pretty, I will stay there again

Fantastic location: a Peaceful

Fantastic location: a Peaceful heaven and still in centre of Guanzhou!Ideal for business trip or as a stay over on your holiday.The service is excellent,the rooms amunities perfect and confortable.Great breakfast buffet and coffe!! Will stay definitly at the Victory hotel again .

My stay in the hotel ws very pleasant

My stay in the hotel ws very pleasant as it was located in Shamian Island. The hotel's surrounding was very peaceful and quiet - a nice refuge from the noise, hustle and bustle of most parts of Guangzhou city. The room itself was tastefully done and very cosy.

This is a very good hotel built

This is a very good hotel built in a traditional "European" style which was great to see and a joy to be in. The rooms however were getting a "little tired" and could do with some renovation. The hotel is in a great location in Guangzhou and very close to most attractions the city has to offer. The staff here were fantastic and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. This was my 4th time in the city and this hotel will certainly be where I will stay if I am ever back in Guangzhou

This Hotel is really worth every

This Hotel is really worth every cent from the very affortable price.Staff and managementis very friendly,helpfull and english speaking,breakfast a cracker(chin+cont.)The best Hotel in China I"ve ever been in that price category,also location is nice at the small island with very much green and tranquillity. Perfect internet access.Absolutly recommended.Will surely return.

This is probably the best value

This is probably the best value for money in town. It would be so even if there wasn't this gorgeous roof-swimming-pool. But it was there too! Very friendly, outgoing staff. In other words: do not miss it!

Unbeatable location for the price

It was a vacation get away and am glad I sayed here. There was nothing that I can think of that was missing. This trip was very different, the staff were outstanding and always readily available when needed.
