Great location / view but no view

This was a pretty decent hotel with a great location to shopping and the Bund. The place is overall very nice and clean although the view they promise is not so good as the windows are so filthy you can barely see out of them. I would stay there again but if looking for an authentic Chinese experience.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

If you are a Westerner looking for more English speaking area, I would check out the French Concession area. Really hip shops/restaurants too. It's a VERY long walk so take the Metro

Good location, but could be cleaned

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean except for the carpet. The carpet needed deep cleaning or replacement. Location was good and the room was quiet. Breakfast was just ok.

Sideriver, not riverside

This hotel is not on the Bund, but three blocks away. Also close to many shopping possibilities. Decent hotel, but taxi drivers don't know the place. Be sure to have the address in chinese printing with you. The hotel itself is good, it has firm beds.

Decent Value

This hotel provides fairly good value for the money and I would recommend it if value is what you are seeking. The hotel is kept clean and the lobby is comfortable and has free WIFI, (although good luck actually connecting as it is extremely slow). The room is nothing fancy, however, the view was great and I could see the entire Pudong skyline. The bed was extremely hard and you can literally feel the springs poking into your body which may be a problem for some. Still, I slept like a baby because of the quiet floor and super dark window shades, so was very very happy about that. If the mattresses were replaced with more plush and newer models I would have increased my rating another full star. Ten minute walk to The Bund or to E. Nanjing Rd, so very convenient location. Really decent value here, I would recommend if you are not traveling on a couples vacation but rather alone or with a friend and on a budget. One more funny thing was the sign in the bathroom with a strange translation. I know what they are trying to say, but it was just too funny not to share with you, so check out the picture ;).

All depends on the tyoe of room

The hotel is not bad for the price you pay, the bed is comfortable, neighborhood is great to take a short walk to the bund or to Nanjing road. My only complaint is that the room I got at first did not had any window which makes it feel odd cause you never know the time and smells weird due to the lack of ventilation. Then I moved to a room with window that you have to pay a little more but is well worth it, no complaints in that one.

Overnight in Shanghai

Booked the day before and got a great deal -- great room with a river view for about 1/3 the cost. Free internet (with cable) in room is a nice touch. Immediate neighborhood is not much, but close to the Bund and Nanjing Road. No airport shuttle as advertised online, so a taxi will be necessary to either airport.
