Sofitel Xian On Renmin Square

We stayed in Xi'An during golden week! The hotel was wonderful. THey provided us a room updgarde on our arrival and even though our room was not ready they gave us a complimentary beverage while we waited a few minutes. The hotel was in walking distance to many sights which was perfect for us! The Concierge who was from Madison, WI gave us excellent dinner recommendations. The only down side was that the pool heater was broken so the kids coul dnot swim in the evenings. That would be our only complaint!

Just one word: Perfect!!!! Would love to go back to this hotel.

the hotel is as good as it gets, and deserves its star rating. the staff is all English speaking, and they are very helpfull with any requests. the room was very modern, large and very clean. the complex is very secured, and you dont see any solicitors. free WiFi worked very well. breakfast was plentifull, but a bit costly (not included in our package). we felt very welcome. perfect place for anyone, that can afford it.

If what you are looking for in a hotel is a beautiful room and lots of extras then the Sofitel is for you. If you wish to stay in a hotel that wants to serve your wish to have a special time viewing the sights in Xian, stay elsewhere. It was our hope that tours could easily be made through the hotel. Instead they sub-let the tour to an outside source who wanted us to spend the majority of our time at buying trips.

Beautifull decor, good service, excellent breakfast. The pool and spa area are also very good. 2 minor things on the "must improve" side: 1) the hotel has 2 wings, we stayed on the west wing where the breakfast schedule is only until 9:30h, so when we woke up later, we had to go to the east wing to have breakfast (until 10.30h), which is not convenient and doesn´t make any sense. 2) On the west wing there is a nightclub and the music was so loud that you could here from wherever you were on the lobby, which wasn´t pleasant.

The hotel was magnificent with beautiful rooms and overall situation. We were disappointed in the breakfast options. My wife and I only wanted coffee and a roll before departing on tours. The only facility available before 9 is the expensive full buffet breakfast.

Visited the Terracotta Wariors. The Hotel was subpar, especially for a Sofitel. Staff was friendly, but lodging was really unexpectedly poor. Dirty shower and bath area, carpet was stained and unclean, and curtains had holes in them. Would not recomend this hotel.

We were offered an upgrade for small increase in price at checkin which we did. The hotel was immaculate and service was great. Location was ideal in the city center and after a day of sightseeing the hotel was a perfect place to come back to and relax. Great value by American standards. You can get a cheaper hotel in this city but if you want to come back to a nice peaceful room at the end of the day this is perfect.

We stayed 2 nights at the Sofitel. The staff was very helpful. Our room was very nice and looked out over the Square. Overall quite good.

This hotel was one of the best hotels i have stayed in one month away and 5 hotels this would have to be on the top of the list for best hotels.The hotel had realy helpful staff and most spoke english realy well. The food was outstanding it had the best Moroccan food and the best buffet breakfast The rooms were very nice clean and good bed for china thats handy for a good nights sleep I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting x"ain make shore when you make the booking you ask whitch wing there are to west and east .
