This beautiful hostel/resort has a spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano, and is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and bus stop. The open setting of the hostel also makes it the perfect place for meeting fellow travelers. This hostel has everything that you need and more!
Facilities include:
* Pristine swimming pool with wet bar and sun loungers
*A large garden with hammocks
*Games: cards, board games *Free Internet *Lockers *Fully bilingual staff *24 hour security *Bar & restaurant with happy hour every night
Dorm rooms: All of the dorm rooms come with; Air conditioning, key card access, lockers and private bathroom with hot water.
Hotel has orthopedic mattresses and provide all of the bed linen. Tents: Hotel has a brand new deluxe camping area! This area is covered and each tent has a double bed, all the linen, lighting, power sockets and an outside locker room.
Hotel also provides flashlights and earplugs in case you need them. Private rooms: All private rooms have: Flat screen TV with cable channels, 2 Double Beds, A/C, Lockers, Towels, Private bathrooms with hot water, orthopedic mattresses, and provide all of the bed linen. LOUD!!
This is a great place if you don't need sleep. It's clean, and all the basics are covered. The food is fine. The grounds are pretty and clean. However, it's directly across the street from a club that goes until 2/3 am. Between the loud band, the drunk partiers, the VERY loud inconsiderate drunk guests stumbling over my tent, the motorcycles and fireworks, it was hard to sleep. Once quite came about 4a, I got great sleep until 6 a, people were up early packing up there things, loudly next to the tent, yelling back and forth to eachother about the party that they had the night before. The staff does not enforce the quite area of the tents.

Central America Check
No room even though pre-paid 48 hours in advance
You're not by much of anything at this location (1 bar) everything else is at least 2 blocks away with main downtown area 5-6 blocks away. It's very easy to find rooms for less as well. AC barely worked, no TV, a light bulb and towels were the only amenities. 1st night they were sold out (didn't contact me either) so they put me up next door. That room had a fridge, AC, dead bugs on the bed and live ones flying around. I eventually slept in the SUV. Upon check in they also were insisting I pay (please note I pre-paid this online to the hostel - for a room they didn't have availability for). Pool & chilling area at the hostel is very nice and price may seem good just know it comes with no amenities (no candles around the tents like in the pics either). Make your reservations at least 72 hours in advance or run the risk of finding other solutions. Also hotel charge vs pre-paid rate showed a ten dollar per night difference - not in my favor. Won't go here again.

Short walk from hotel
Lava Lounge (3 blocks) has great prices with a rasta vibe. Things run more expensive in Costa Rica compared to Belize, Guatemala and Honduras (t-shirts twice as much, also airport adds another fifty percent mark-up to what you see in the cities so don't wait to stock up before it's too late). But the beauty hands down wins here. Also compared to machine guns every half block in Guatemala City I only saw one here at a gas station. Also shops stay open late so buy then instead of waiting until the morning. I waited until 10am and about a third of the shops still weren't open, they had been open until about 9/10pm the night before.
