weekend getaway

My husband and I stayed with our 2 year old in a basic double room last weekend. For the room rate we thought it was reasonably priced but I would have to say that the hotel is certainly nothing exceptional nor is it anywhere near a 5 star hotel. Having said that it was just fine for a quick walk to the old town square and many other sites around town. Indeed breakfast was better than average. I don't think I would stay there again as I would have preferred the hotel to have a bit more character and be less 'box standard'.

Great Hotel

...not perfect in every detail but overall more than good. We would go there again if we would get back to Prague. Executive room recommended, just to be free to enjoy the lot of free snacks, wines, coffee and more available at the executive lounge.

First visit to Prague

King's Court Hotel is located near Powder Gate and walking distance from the major sights in the town. Trams are fast and convenient - once you figure them out. They can get you to the castle above the city and to the national museum (modern art section) where Mucha's Slav Epic is on show. Next to the hotel is the Arte Noveau municipal building that was partly designed by Mucha. Saw a concert there in its spectacular auditorium, and there is an interesting bar in the basement. Took a seven hour walking tour that only scratched the surface of the old town. The old town is mostly cobblestones, so good shoes are needed. The hotel's Executive Lounge is nicely set up and the concierge was very helpful.

GRRREAT HOTEL

I had a long stay in the hotel and i have to say that it was all absolutly FLAWLESS. I had a Deluxe room which was already great with a view on the city square but when the air conditioning faulted midway through my stay, the staff was extremely helpful in upgrading me to a junior suite. The hotel is very well situated within walking distance of everything you need to see in Prague. The morning buffet is complete with alot of variety. The diner experience was also very good. And the best of it all was the staff. I mean they were helpful in anything and everything. Service was immadiate, impecable and i couldn't emphasize enough how much i enjoyed this hotel. A defnite 10 over 10.

Perfect Location

Staying at Kings Court was the perfect location to be in order to get anywhere in the City. The subway is located just outside the door; the tram runs through the square; we visited our son with a simple subway ride. The hotel itself was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet every morning was unbeatable! For an excellent place to stay when you want to take in all that the beautiful city of Prague has to offer, Kings Court Hotel cannot be beat.

Good, but not stellar

I had no problems, but thought the room very small. Also, the tv (a nice, big flatscreen) was on the desk, which made it hard to use the desk. Vacuuming of hallways could be heard at night. The view out the window (on the first floor) was blocked by some unattractive pipes. The breakfast buffet really stood out, though - it was fantastic, well-stocked, nice ambiance, very good coffee, perfect. The bar frequently had a pianist playing, which was nice to hear from the lobby. Location was good - an easy walk to everything, on a nice street/square.

About a thirty seconds walk away is the Municipal House, where you can see concerts or eat in their Art Nouveau Restaurant. It's very pretty!
