Praga 1 Hotel Prague

The hotel was in a good location. Opposite 3 nightclubs. walking distance to the centre, however the tram stop is 2 mins away. Hotel staff were excellent, breakfast was good. room were really big and clean. and hotel is very safe.

From the outside, the hotel doesn't look much. In fact, when I looked it up on google, I thought it was an Irish pub. However, this is the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. The staff were tremendously welcoming, despite the late hour of our arrival and, although we were unable to avail ourselves of the shuttle from the airport (it ends at 20:00) we couldn't have been happier with our reception. The room itself was massive (401) and, though it was next to the lift, it was not afflicted with noise. My partner is a bit OCD about hotels and went through with a sanitizing cloth, but even he couldn't find too much to complain about. The bathroom was a reasonable size, but I had trouble not catching the taps in the shower cubicle. I am a little rotund (too much good food, good wine etc) but I'm no giant. There was room in the bathroom for a bigger shower and this could be improved. Breakfast was great. served from and until reasonable times and in plentiful quantities - including the coffee. Other than this, do not expect any form of room service or out of hours food. You can go to the local shops and bring food in, but that's it. The bar is open 24/7, but the supplies are limited. Coffe and other hot drinks are available as well as alcohol. The reception carries a good supply of leaflets and tourist information and you can book tours and cruises through the hotel. Placed where it is, the hotel provides excellent access to both old and new halves of the city. You are less than 10 minutes from the river on foot and there is a handy metro station and tram stop across the park. Travel is cheap and, although English is not always well spoken or understood by the people. Keep an eye on your Koruna, as some of the tourist traps and restaurants can rip you off. 180Kc for a basic pizza is OK, but 220Kc is excessive! We could have happily stayed for another fortnight just to see more of the city. Checking out was a doddle. Staff were, again, extremely helpful.

Everything is really close to this hotel. Staff is awesome, break fast was really good.

Overall, it was a good hotel, with an excellent breakfast buffet and a very good location. All the touristic places, malls, restaurants were in short walking distance and the neighbourhood was very quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, but at times a little uninterested. But they always had the right answers. The airport shuttle had good and friendly drivers and was easy to recognize. About the room: we had a little problem with maintaining temperature in the room, which in this time of year (February) is necessary to be comfortable. The room's furnishing was sufficient, but the walls didn't have much decoration so that it was not as cosy as you'd expect. The wifi didn't work inside the room, you'd need to go into the hallway. On the positive side: there was an easy-to-use safe locker, the room was quite spacious and the bed was SUPERB! We had a very good night's rest in it.

From the pickup at the airport (free) to the accomodation and services we found them definately 4 star

Great location, spacious rooms and friendly staff. I would reccoment this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is like what we have come to expect from your average american hotel. Decent sized room, nice little clean bathroom, maid service. Room service is only for the complementary breakfast, otherwise they have none. I didn't try that out, always went downstairs and got it myself. Close to the wenceslas square, close to a metro station/trams. NOTE: They do not run the free shuttle anymore to/from the airport so don't bother waiting at the place they say, just take a cab.

The details made what could have been a decent stay a bit regrettable. Internet was free, but sometimes unreliable. Breakfast was ok. Rooms clean and with good space, but the TV was very limited and I only had BBC World as an English-speaking station. Coffee service in room never refilled and only provided tea...no coffee. Location is great and if you are not high-maintenance then you can be happy here.

What a beautiful city - it is just simply breathe taking. And what a wonderful city to get engaged in. My finance proposed on the Charles Bridge - it was beautiful. BTW I did say "YES!"

This hotel was close to attractions, clean and worth the money. It included breakfast, but unlike their advertising pictures, there was nothing hot on the buffet any day and the orange juice was watered down to where it tasted like water.
