Well located oasis of comfort
The room was perfect for someone with a disability and was centrally located in a pedestrian friendly city. Service and helpfulness room and breakfast were top rate. It was really appreciated that the lifts were so near the room and so imaginatively designed. We were in easy wheelchair pushing reach of all the major sights. One minor thought which only occurred to me after return was that the 24hr self service coffee bar could have offered a wider range of sandwiches and the vegetarian menu could have had two options instead of one. These are very minor quibbles. This is an excellent hotel that is extremely well designed.

The hotel was totally booked so we couldn't get the room type we requested (queen size with twin bed). Instead we got a king-size bed one night and two twin beds the next night. The women at the desk were not particularly knowledgeable about the hotel's neighborhood and were useless at getting us a taxi for the airport. Be prepared to find your own dining around the hotel and call your own cab for the airport!

Wonderful Hotel
Hotel was clean and hotel style was very chic! Hotel staff was very friendly, helpful, and informative. Thumbs up on the location. The hotel restaurant "Grill It" had great food, but the food took a long time with almost an hour wait after we ordered. Breakfast was just as good!

When inquiring about the boat trip to Tallinn, Estonia (2 hour boat ride), ensure you ask the hotel rep for assistance in translating the Vikingline website. For some reason the English site was charging significantly more than the Finnish site. We ended up only paying 39 euros for 3 adults from the Finnish site while the English site charged 200 euros. We were very thankful for the hotel rep for pointing that out.

Perfectly adequate for city break
Hotel is a bit out of the 'centre'of Helsinki, but a 20 minute stroll sees you at the heart of things. Room was very clean, if slightly on the small side. Bathroom was also very clean, with all the expected bits and pieces (hair-dryer, shower gel/shampoo etc.) Breakfast (included) was more then adequate and of a reasonably good standard. The meal we ate at the 'Grill It!' restauarant was excellent. On the down-side, the complimentary coffee/ tea , sweetners and creamer were NOT replaced on a daily basis. Additionally, the beds were NOT made properly eac morning, with the duvet just being pulled over the rumpled bottom sheet.

City is small, so location was not bad, although the area is quite commercial. Buffet breakfast was fairly good, despite bad coffee. Room was tiny. Excellent blackout curtains for those 20-hr sunny days in summer. Helsinki is a costly city; this hotel was a decent value in relative terms.

Well maintained and reliable
Second time I stayed there, about a year apart. Friendly and efficient reception, both time rooms were very clean. The pillows are fantastic - there was something about materials from NASA (?). Free Wi-Fi for all guests. This time I used sauna also - came at 21:00, it was clean and warm enough (not super hot). Large screen LCD panel in the room. Good selection at breakfast, included in price. Compared to couple others in HEL, this one wins
