Scandic Simonkentta

It was a beautiful evening at the hotel with a balcony view just outside our bedroom. The tile in the bathroom was somewhat worn, dirty grout, thus "rough around the edges". The breakfast was outstanding, best I have ever had

This hotel was fantastic. The staff is very helpful in giving directions to other places around town. The view from the balcony to the center square is breathtaking at night and its location is close to shopping centers and the metro so you can always find something to do. For future endeavors to Helsinki, I know Scandic Simonkentta will be the place I will always call my temporary home.

Overall, this is about the most perfect hotel experience I've ever had. The hotel is well-located in downtown Helsinki - Close to train, subway, and busses. The room design was amazingly efficient, yet very comfortable. Just as close to "home" as could be. The morning breakfast was especially welcome. They feature a fantastic variety of buffet breakfast items. I was attending an academic conference that sometimes kept going until quite late. There was always food available in the lobby that I could purchase and bring up to my room. Staff members were always friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to book my next stay at this hotel on future trips to Helsinki.

Good but nothing special. The staff seemed overwhelmed at times and not too friendly. Breakfast was very good.

I was very impressed with the hotel. Our request for a queensize bed could not be honoured but they did accomodate us the first night in a suite at no extra cost. The following day we moved into a room with a double bed. Thee suite was lovely but right across from the hotel was a disco and having arrived after midnight and a long flight it was a little noisy but it was ok. The staff was very accomodating. Would recommend the Simonkentta to anyone. Centrally located and with the weather in Finland the convience of being able to go shopping without really going outside is a plus. Rooms were very clean and modernly decorated. It even has a small refrigerator .

The hotel is just two blocks from the Central Railroad Station and the Metro Station is just across the back courtyard. The front desk staff was very helpful. I asked them several questions about transportation and they gave me timetables, maps and good information. The breakfast was great. Lots of typical European choices. The room was spacious and very clean. The traffic noise was pretty loud with the window open, but closed it was very quiet in the room. Helsinki is a very walkable city and everything we wanted to see was within a 20 minute walk from the hotel.

The location was perfect for us. Close to shopping and within walking distance to the market by the docks. Very good restaurants nearby. Since we were taking a bus to our next destation the hotel was perfect because it is located above the main long distant bus depot. There is also a shopping mall below the hotel.

Helpful staff, free wifi, very good breakfast, central location and good price. No fridge in room though but free ice machine outside.

Very good location, next to railway station and Museum of Modern Art (Kiasma), as well as all the shopping options. Great service and extremely good value for the price.

Great hotel, checked in late after flight. Next morning went sight seeing, great location and close to shopping and bars.
