Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt

The Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt was absolutely beautiful, very convenient to the airport and the shuttle service they provided was great - just what we needed. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. After a long day, being able to get into the "city forest" for a nice long hike was terrific. My biggest objection to our stay was that we needed to pay for Internet Service. I just personally feel that service should be provided free of charge! I was so looking forward to getting "caught up" on e-mails and other web applications before the long flight home and was quite disappointed at the fact that a mere hour ran 4.50 euros. Give me free WIFI and it's a five-star experience!

It was very convenient and upscale hotel, unique in Germany, Ostrich and Switzerland. Its facilities are five star level and take care of every detail. Its staff is also very supportive and location near airport surrounded with forests is also perfect!

In a short business trip, it always good to be in close distance to the airport, especially if your meetings are late and you have to catch a plane early morning...

Stayed overnight between flights. Shuttle buses ran with Teutonic efficiency - really simple and quick - 10 mins hotel to terminal. Check in was very fast and polite. Room a bit small but quite functional and comfortable. Meals would have been very expensive at the hotel, but I asked at the checkin desk and they politely suggested I could walk (about 2 blocks) to the nearby convenience store at gas station. It's like an American convenience store, had dinner of a microwaved burger and an almond croissant for < 5 euros. Internet was 15 Euros for 24 hours - expensive, but the hotel is so reasonable I was happy to payit. Overall, highly recommended to get this value so close to the airport.

The rooms are so small that they have now abandoned baths in an effort to make cat swinging a possible option. A five star hotel with no baths and easy chairs so small and uncomfortable that only a child could possibly consider them useful is a misnomer. However, the facilities, staff and otherwise pleasant rooms (be sure to get a newly modernised room) would be a welcome find in any four star property.

The Steinberger is a nice hotel, but very pricy for a simple overnight stay near the airport. The Steinberger in the city is much nicer.

This hotel is in an excellent location for the FRA airport. It's not near anything else, so there is no competition. We were happy to leave because we were nickel'd and dimed to death. The memory I take away is the $17 dollars I spent for a drink of water. I'll find another option next time I am in Frankfurt.

The check-in at Steigenberger took almost 30 minutes. The Hotel had no record of my Orbitz reservation, or of my having pre-paid. The staff member left the desk and returned several times, acting impatient with me, and made no effort to apologize or assure me that I would receive a room. The hotel is beautiful, and very convenient for air travelers. Overall, this place is worth the price for the convenience, but plan your meals elsewhere. The Steigenberger dinners were overpriced and ordinary. The breakfast was acceptable, but compared badly to the usual breakfast in German hotels and guesthouses.

The beds were unconfortable and the maid wanted to come in at 6:15 AM. The location was great if you are flying out in the morning and the shuttle service was on time and dependable.
