Hidden Jewel
When I got off the metro station, I had difficulty finding the hotel at first. The street that the hotel is on looks like it could use some TLC. Once I saw multi-national flags, I figured it was the hotel. Upon entrance, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor. The room surprised me even more, it had a huge king bed, mini bar w/ fridge, nice bathroom and a HUGE balcony. It was the best value I received in Athens. It is very close to the metro station and hot spots. Even though the street needed TLC, I didn't feel that my safety was compromised.

Considerate staff, excellent location
The hotel was lovely. It was in a very convenient location within a five minute walk of the old section of Athens. The rooms were comfortable for our seven day stay. The staff was so friendly and helpful that at the end of our stay we felt like residents. Highly recommended.

Great Spot
Acropolis Select was great... The hotel was terrific. The complimentary continental breakfast was great, and the hotel staff were very accomadating. The room was terrific, clean, and comfortable. This was a great stay- close to the metro and tram Sigrou-Fix, so we were able to easily get around. We had a really enjoyable stay at this small, personable hotel. There was also an excellent gyro restaurant between the metro and the hotel.

Good selection
This hotel was very clean, and my room (509) was in the front and I had no problem with the noise that I read about. If you shut the balcony door you do not hear anything. I did not hear people next door breaking wind or talking etc. The room looks much better in person. It was close to public transportation as mentioned by other guests. It wasn't a far walk to main attractions, and there were places to eat and shop nearby.

Nice hotel, good value
The Acropolis Select hotel is a good value and located within easy walking distance of the Acropolis and the Plaka (old town center) in Athens. The hotel staff is courteous, friendly, and very helpful. The lobby business center has two computers for guest use that is very convenient for checking email, etc. The rooms are somewhat small, but efficient and clean. The lobby bar is great for happy hour and has a large screen television. The restaurant provides a very nice full English breakfast each day and has a modest lunch and dinner menu as well. Would definitely stay at this hotel on our next trip to Athens.

nice place near syngrou fix metro
I've stayed at the Acropolis Select several times over the last few years and have rarely been disappointed. Just two blocks from metro stop Syngrou/Fix, it is about a 5-10 minute walk to the Acropolis and Plaka. The front desk people are always very nice and pleasant, even when I check in after midnight. The hot breakfast is huge and delicious.

Probably cheaper than similar quality hotels in Plaka, and well worth it. Don't expect a view since the hotel is on a mostly residential street. But it is quiet, clean, and friendly. I often see a tour group staying there.

A great deal
Just two blocks from a metro stop (Fix/Syngrou) and near the Acropolis and Plaka (maybe a 5-10 minute walk). The staff is always extremely friendly, polite, and welcoming. The hot breakfast has variety and is well done. My rooms have been simple, always clean, with balconies, but no views. Quiet, and situated in a residential neighborhood. Wireless available. I highly recommend. I stay here whenever I can. A great deal for the money.

Clean, great location, service!
Overall the hotel was a great value for the money. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient and easy to find. There was a subway station just a few steps away, making it very easy to get around the city, or to the airport or the cruise port. The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was tasty and had a nice variety. At night we always felt safe walking around. There's even a few restaurants in the area that were open for late night meals. It's not a fancy hotel by any means, but it was CLEAN and a great value for the money. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!!

Short walk from hotel
The acropolis was a 10 minute walk. Many of the attractions in Athens were within walking distance to the hotel. If it wasn't within walking distance, it was only a couple stops away by subway.

Good Hotel & Good Value
The Acropolis Select served us well. It has a good location, walking distance to Acropolis and Plaka. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The possibility for noise was there with a crane poised for construction across the street, but nothing went on during the 4 days we were there and it was very quiet. Breakfast was very nice.

Short walk from hotel
The Plaka is very close with lots of restaurants, shops and museums. Walked to the Ancient Agora and spent the day. (Free on Friday) The new Acropolis Museum is a short walk and though not officially open until the end of 2008, it is possible to visit for a couple of hours and very worthwhile.
