Value

Good value. Clean hotel with a very helpful concierge. It was an excellent location with the old part of town just down the street with plenty of stores and restaurants. We were close to the Acropolis. It made our stay in Athens quite lovely.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

When you step out of the hotel-go left-walk for about 5 minutes on the left side is the metro station. In that plaza is a good local restaurant on the right hand side-facing the station Further down the right side of the street on the corner, there is a store which sells items such as water, wine, etc.

The Right Hotel Select

The hotel is within walking distance to Acropolis where Parthenon, Dionysos Theatre and other archeological ruins are located. It's is also about 3 blocks away from the Acropolis metro station, and near Plaka (old town), Monastiraki, Temple of Olympian Zeus and others. There are a lot of restaurants, souvenir shops, small groceries nearby. The location is quite safe even late in the evening. The buffet breafast served each day is satisfactory and varied. The hotel staff were okay. We were served hot coffee when we arrived. The room is quite small, but convenient, and clean. The roof deck is under construction(?). The elevator is small and the door is old-fashioned. You have to push or pull it to open/close it. There's no sliding pavement for the luggages, that's why I had to carry all the luggages up the hotel steps to the lobby. Also, there's no peephole in the room door.Overall, my group enjoyed our stay here.

Very good value

The room was comfortable, clean, and quite. The staff was very efficient and helpful. Had a couple of times when the hot water wasn't working and the elevator once malfunctioned. However, these issues were fairly quickly resolved. Overall, the hotel was a very good value for the money and actually much better than we had expected. It also had a very good hot breakfast as part of the room price.

Good Location, Friendly Staff

The hotel was located within walking distance of the Acropolis & the Plaka District. Lots of activities & restraunts found in this area. Staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was alittle on the small side but our friends stayed in a room that was much nicer. Breakfast was a delicious buffet. Very nice lobby and bar.

I'd stay There Again

From what I saw in regards to the area's surrounding other hotels & price, this one is by far the best. I just got to look around downtown Athens on a Sunday, but streets were crowded with people selling "junk". I would not feel safe after dusk if I were at the downtown hotels. Acropolis I felt very safe & is within a short distance from Metro (don't worry, it is easy to figure to us bus & metro with the help of the friendly Greeks. Also, MUCH cheaper than taxi. A couple of blocks to Temple of Zeus & Acropolis. The Acropolis Select was clean, the staff VERY helpful, and the breakfast buffet each morning was GREAT. I was at a 4 star that didn't have near the selection of foods as the Acropolis. The Staff even went as far as to call a travel agency for me while I was out touring to verify my arrangements for the next tour.

Shopping tip: Not Applicable

Don't settle for the ticket price of things. Pretty much everything is negotiable. They may go down more on the price of an item if your offer cash.

Great Location & Value

We stayed three nights prior to cruise from Pireaus. Excellent location, near Acropolis & newly opened Acropolis Museum, Plaaka, Hadrian's Arch. Hotel is on a quiet street, 3 min walk to Metro and near many street cafes and interesting shops. Room was very clean but small with basic older furniture.Small balcony with chairs. Bathroom small but spotless (no mould as other reviews describe). Very friendly, helpful staff, able to store luggage for us on check-out day. Delicious hot & cold breakfast buffet with adequate choices in a lovely dining room. 30 Euros for taxi to Pireaus Port. We travelled into Athens by Metro from Airport. Red Line Sygrou-Fix station is 5 min walk to hotel if you can manage your luggage. The cafe/restaurant at the new Acropolis Museum is cheap and very good. Best cup of coffee in Athens! Museum entry fee 1 Euro is a steal and wonderful for all Athenians to enjoy. Be sure to go early before the crowds, then have coffee out on the terrace with a wonderful view of the Acropolis above you.

Great value and well located

This hotel is well located, near the subway for easy access to the Parthenon (or a long walk). They have a good sized breakfast in the morning and the staff are very pleasant. I like it so much that I plan to stay there again this year.
