We liked the hotel. It was a little further from the "Athenian Rivera" then we hoped. The airport shuttle was not free which should have been advertised.

Even worse than expected
The lobby looked Okay but, if you have bags, forget any help. There was one tough woman at the desk. No Bellhops. The two elevators each carry 4 people or two people and two bags. We were to have a queen size bed, we had two twins. I will say, the three boys DID have three twin beds in their room, however, the beds are low to the floor and are a mattress on a board, no springs. Fortunately, I like firm beds. Rooms are small. The "Don't steal the towels" signs set the tone of the place. Up in the hallway and rooms, it felt more like a Hostel than a hotel. We had ocean side rooms - could, sort of, see the ocean and the double sliding glass doors and the AC kept the street noise to a minimum. Two stars? Maybe. We were there for a one night layover and it was Okay for that. It worked for us because we have Greek friends 15 minutes form there and we had dinner with them. If we didn't, it's not worth the cab fare. There are a number of hotels [...] right at the airport.

Ok stay in europe
More like a two star hotel, but for the area it did appear to be in line with the neighboring hotels. Nice and close to the ocean. This hotel description boasts hotel shuttle, not really correct. There is a shuttle but you have to call the hotel 48 hours in advance and it does cost 9euros. Otherwise you have to take a long bus ride from the airport or very expensive cab ride.

Good place to stay in Glyfada
This hotel is very close to the beach and a short walk to the shopping/restaurant area. The reception staff was very helpful, especially for English-only speakers.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Reception informed us about the express bus that goes to the airport. The bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. This saved a lot of money instead of using a taxi for a very early flight.

We asked the front desk person how long it would take to get to Pirreas and they saied 40 minutes. We gave ourselves an hour and that was still not enough. We ended up missing our boat to Mykonos and had to pay for another ticket.

Not a 4-star hotel
The hotel was very close to the beach, tram and some retaurants/shops. However, if they offer you a room with a sea view, politely decline and ask for something quieter. It's mad that you have to get a number from the concierge to access the internet from your room and have to pay for the privilege. Food was adequate - Greek yoghurt is the best. Smother it with honey and nuts.

Emmantina Hotel
Having the internet was helpful when our plan was grounded due to the volcanic ash and being able to stay there the additional 4 nights to wait for our re-booked flight (that was later cancelled too). The food was expensive, but good! The complimentary breakfast buffet was unexpected, but nice to have. The swimming pool was COLD!!
