Sofitel Athens Airport

Sofitel is a great hotel if you want to stay literally next door to the airport. We had an early 6:30am flight and had no interest in adding time to take subway or taxi from Athens to airport in the morning. The hotel is barely a 5 min walk from the airport entrance. The hotel room was clean, bed comfy, large bathroom and wifi worked pretty well. Price was reasonable as well. I only give it 4 stars for location because if you want to head into city you are looking at 40 min to an hour subway ride depending where you are staying. We booked this for our last day in Athens and it was perfect.

I really enjoyed my stay here. When I checked in I got upgraded to the "executive level" so that was a nice surprise. The room was very luxurious and spacious. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but I like a pretty hard mattress. The hotel is super easy to get to from the airport, you just basically walk out and across the little breezeway where cars come to pick people up and you are there. You are immediately greeted by a doorman who will help you with your bags if you want and check in is very easy and quick. I went downstairs for dinner and it was a very good meal and a nice setting. Everywhere I went the staff was very friendly and helpful. I only stayed one night and found myself wishing I could stay longer. Overall I was very pleased and would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

Right across from the airport doors, so it doesn't get any more convenient if you have an early-morning flight. The hotel upgraded me at check-in, which was a pleasant surprise. The only problem was a barely-functioning A/C, but I was only staying for one night, so I just put up with it.

This is a wonderful hotel and we were so excited to just have to cross the street from the airport and we were in the lobby.....we had an arrival time after 9 PM so this was the perfect place to stay. Caught a cruise out of Athens the next day and all went smoothly.

After spending so much on vacation, I really weighed "near the airport" options before picking Sofitel. I got advice from several hoteliers in the Greek Islands and the opinion was unanimously in favor of Sofitel but I didn't think one night before an early flight was worth the extra hundred dollars or so. Boy am I glad I trusted the reviews and their advice. A choice for convenience was the right thing to do for so many other reasons. 1) Coming off the Metro, this is a singularly well-sited spot with lit, easy access, and the ability to sleep an extra half hour before heading to the airport (by foot!) 2) The professional, worldly, friendly staff is eager to make visitors comfortable and secure. 3) The sauna and pool and fitness area are not expansive but simply clean, up-to-date, and suited for exactly what a traveler needs. 4) Most importantly, the room is just enough space with the cleanest, most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in. I put a premium on high-end mattresses and am almost never overwhelmed with the choices hotels make (with few exceptions, such as the Westin heavenly bed). This bed was just unbelievably comfortable. Also: great linens and an efficient, clean shower space. Honestly, I could have stayed at a few other spots for about a hundred dollars less. But by the time I paid for a cab and wireless connection, I doubt I would have saved very much. More importantly, I would have missed out on one of the best, most restful hotel stays of my two week trip. I will not hesitate to pick Sofitel next time.

The Sofitel is at the Airport in Athens and is perfect for the sleep over in preparation for an early flight.

Hotel is situated at an excellent location near the international airport. Room seemed soundproof. We did not hear any airport or hallway noise. After a day spent touring Athens and climbing steps to the Parthenon, sleep was very comfortable. Staff was very helpful with any questions that we had.

Extremely convenient. Walking distance with 24hr restaurant. Couldn't ask for more for night layover.

We thought the hotel was perfect in every way. As I explained to the receptionist, the only let down was that the air conditioning was not working and as we only realised it at 1.00am we just lived with it. My wife thought the bed and bedding were superb.

Very comfortable, excellent location, very polite and helpful staff (desk and floor). Downside - expensive.
