modern feel in the heart of the city
This is a new hotel, very comfortable and trendy. Right on the Marina. Restaurant is fantastic. Great food. Comfortable beds and nice rooms. Staff a little less than friendly compared to the 9 other hotels I stayed while in Iceland. Overall very nice and highly recommended.

Great hotel, Excellent service, Great location
My Wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. The hotel is very new with modern, quirky design. Rooms are comfortable although it must be noted that the bathroom is separated from the room with frosted glass sliding door. The hotel staff are very helpful, friendly, and always pleased to provide local knowledge, booking restaurants, etc. The bar and restaurant are full on Friday's and Saturday's as this seems to be the place to be seen in Reykjavik - in fact the reception area is converted to an extra bar area both these nights. There are many great restaurants and the heart of the old town within a very short walk, and the whale watching excursions vendors/start points are right next door to the hotel. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel and will be visiting again.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Try the excellent Steak House restaurant, 2 mins walk from the hotel. Booking recommended especially on Friday or Saturday. If a hand made burger is what you fancy, then there is a great place right next to the hotel.

Chic hotel, wants to be a club
The hotel itself is stylish and chic in general and is in a good location for walking around town. The food served in the breakfest was extremly good....probably the best I have ever had for a hotel included breakfest. However, the issues with this hotel began to surmount. The bar area is apparently the "chic" hotspot in town and the localc gather there nightly. By gather I mean 1-200 people in the middle of the week, with loud laughter and music. If you want to drink and be merry then this is a good hotel for that, if you have to rise early at all do not stay in this hotel, the party will not stop before mid night and the staff essentially gives you that "oh well" look when you complain. On the second night when i began demanding my money back since we had a 4am flight, i was finally moved. If you stay here and have a room on the second floor DO NOT plan to sleep before midnight....the windows are sound proof but the building is not with little sound proofing in the floor. On top of these issues, numerous maintenance issues were present and the rooms were rather small.

A-MAZING fun and funky hotel and local bar.
This hotel is AMAZING!! The staff is so friendly and helpful and always willing to help with anything from dinner reservations, finding a taxi to exchanging cash at ANY time of day. The rooms are of typical European size and are VERY comfortable and well appointed with fun and funky decor. The hotel bar, Slippbarinn is a favourite among locals and you never know what musical artist/group might show up and play a set. You MUST try their personalised drinks and the food is amazing. There is a lovely breakfast served in the mornings too. It is fun to see the work in the dry docks going on in front of the hotel. All of the local whale watching tours, bicycles tours and even scooter rentals ar located on the slipp in front of the hotel. The location is perfect for walking to EVERYTHING in Reykjavik as well. I would reccomend it to anyone and would be very excited to stay there again.

Excellent hotel!
We really enjoyed our stay at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina. The staff was very helpful and our room was on the smaller side, but nice. It is a very short walk to all of the main Reykjavik activity. As icing on the cake, the restaurant that is part of the hotel was very good! There were a ton of locals that eat there every night, so you know it has to be good.
