Never again!!

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is its location. It is approx 10 mins walk from the Luas which is great for shopping in Dublin city centre. The parking is free too. However, the hotel itself is nothing special. Our room was quite shabby and the beds were rock hard. We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room and hence our room was really hot all the time! It was supposed to be fixed but it kept blowing hot air out during a time when when it was really hot outside too. It was awful. Upon departure I spoke to the manager regarding this problem and his attitude was condescending and dismissive. He and a female supervisor had an argument in front of us over who should have checked this room to see if the air conditioning was fixed correctly and we were forgotten!! Never ever again would I stay here. I would like to mention though the reception staff were nice and it was definitely the management who left this place down, shame on them! This hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating.

Extremely Enjoyable

Beautifully furnished, large rooms with pima cotton linens. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar next door were very good. Not too far from the center by car, but walking distance to the LUAS light rail. The buffet and hot breakfast were the best with excellent service. More like a 5 star experience!

Nothing Special

This hotel was nothing special. The location was far from ideal, but overall, my experience was fine. If you are from America, you could find this hotel to be similar to a Best Western or AmericInn. I was satisfied and would return back in the future. It the kind of hotel people need to just for bed and shower facilities.

Worst customer service ever

I had the worst experience with this hotel. When I arrived they had our reservation completely wrong and then charged us extra for having a third person who wasn't under our reservation when in reality they were. After dealing with this, my friends and I reached our room where none of the outlets worked and neither did the appliances provided such as the TV and the hairdryer. The manager then proceeded to tell me that in order to dry my hair I had to hold it extremely far away or it would burn out, however even when I did this it still failed to work. The manager then refused to change our room or to at least comp us the extra money we were being charged. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. Problems like these continued throughout the weekend. At checkout it seems they had charged us an extra amount for breakfast when it was already included in the price we paid and in the extra fee they added on at check in. Overall the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.

Lacking urgency

We were left standing at check in while one receptionist was on the phone & the other two chatted. While checking in we were told our room was not ready. This was 3.30 pm. The receptionist called, who arrived, apologised for her delay, then said she didn't do the first floor (were our room was). The receptionist proceeded to give us another triple room on the 3rd floor. When we got to the room we made tea/coffee. There wasn't enough milk so one of my friends went out & asked the chambermaid, she complained about giving us more milk. Then we went to have showers, the shower mat was rolled up with a security seal, when I unrolled it, it was full of hairs, I washed it off & preceded with my shower to find that there was only 1 bath towel for the triple room. I rang for more towels, the maid brought up 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel & checked to see how many towels we actually had. We went to Hush nite club & returned at 2am, we ordered room service & the pizza's were €2 dearer than stated on the menu. After 40 mins, I rang to see if they had the correct room number, they had, but had received a lot of orders. On the plus side we met a staff member in the corridor & asked him for ice, he returned with a bucket of ice, very pleasant man. At breakfast, there were loads of staff & our every request was fulfilled. Overall the room was pleasant with some of the detail missing.

Great getaway

This is a really great hotel with great offers. Rooms are really clean and spacious and the staff are very friendly. The only slight negative is that the Luas stop is not as near when walking as you would think.

Fantastic surprise for me Mum

My brother and I took our mom, who is 83yrs old, on her dream trip in her life! We started in London, up to Edinbrough, over to Londonderry where we have genealogy roots, down to Dublin! We were very excited about the stay at the Red Cow Moran. It was luxurious and warming to step in the front desk area! We were so pleased with the lift that is provided for guests, as our mother has problems with stairs. The room was very comfortable except for one thing, my brother is 6ft 4in, he kept bumping his head on the beam that extended in our room! I bumped my head as well when I went to sit at the table to use the WI FI. Everything smelled wonderful, the hallways, the room, and even the dining room where we had our breakfast. Very pleasant sitting in a bright room that is so elegantly decorated for dining! However,I did not see anyone for the 2 days we were there at the desk to help us for day activities out and about. We had questions about maps and places to eat while we were planning while out in the city sightseeing. The staff tried to help with what they could. My favoirte part in staying at the Red Cow Moran were the comfortable beds and the leisure bathtub that is so long and deep for a great soak for my tired body and feet after sightseeing! I would love to come back for another visit!

Misleading location

It claimed to be a 4 star and it was far from it. But the worst part for that it was misleading where it was located. NO WHERE NEAR city center. Which was a big bummer for our 1 night in Dublin.
