Dining

Restaurant
The Sussex Restaurant has long been established as the first in fine-dining for both guests and local residents. Amidst an Art Nouveau Cafe Paris-type ambience, the restaurant echoes an era of times past - where smiling, friendly waiters tend to your every request - the bright, glass recesses in the walls allowing for ample natural light during the day and setting a chattering, romantic scene by night. A special Breakfast is served in the Sussex Restaurant - a vast, delicious buffet including cereals, mueslis, yoghurts, fresh fruits, meats, delicate pastries, warm breads and a variation of cooked breakfasts including a "Full Irish" with fresh coffee and a wide selection of teas. Lunch and Dinner is also served in the Sussex Restaurant from varied menus using the best of fresh, local produce - complemented by a meticulously selected wine list.
Bar
The low-lit expanse of this chic, contemporary bar make it a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner chilled aperitif, a zingy cocktail or a cool drink - or simply to join in on the busy chatter of guests and locals alike. A hub of friends and colleagues, Bellini's has become hugely popular since re-opening its doors as a modern progression on the legendary Buck Mulligan's Bar - despite its new interior, the conversation remains the same.

Fantastic hotel, it was well worth

Fantastic hotel, it was well worth the small price to upgrade to an executive suite! Check in/out was friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and clean. A short walk to town. I would recommend this hotel!

Frankly, we were disappointed

Frankly, we were disappointed with the look of the hotel. It was a big, impersonal looking building with a large parking lot right in front. Of course, the tour buses loved that fact. Buses were frequent and noisy. The lobby was rather stark and uninviting. Checking in was a stress, as, at first they couldn't find any record of our reservation. The doorman, Tom, who was wonderful, suggested we try the hotel's own restaurant. We did, and it was the highlight of our stay in the hotel. In contrast to the rest of the hotel, the restaurant was lovely. Old fashioned with rich woods and tasteful decor. The food was fantastic and there was a reasonably priced special. In addition, there was a wonderful group playing music that grown-ups would love, and we did. Service was also very good during our meal. We were there during the recent heat wave, and our room window only opened a bit at the top. Consequently, we were uncomfortably hot. Another turnoff for us was the location.

I booked the hotel at the last

I booked the hotel at the last minute for my partner's birthday. I was extremely pleased with the price for a standard room. On arrival the receptionist upgraded us to an executive room free of charge as we were celebrating a birthday. Although the receptionist staff were very helpful, the location was poor and it was certainly more than a 5 minute walk from the city centre. The breakfast was cold, not at all appetising and expensive. Although there were many available tables in the restaurant the staff sat us at one that hadn't been cleared and was filthy. Not what you expect from a four star hotel and we've stayed in better three star places.

I was suprised that for a 4 star

I was suprised that for a 4 star hotel there was no air conditioning and also no fridge in the room. The room was extremely hot and althought we were supplied with a fan when requested it was still very uncomfortable. I also called reception and asked for a champagne bucket with ice, 2 hrs later I had to call again as it did not arrive. A bit disappointed overall. I had stayed here previously as I was attending a party there, but it was winter so temp in rooms were OK.

Our stay at the Burlington was

Our stay at the Burlington was disappointing. The hotel room was excellent and very quiet and clean. the problem was in the facilities in the foyer and other lounge rooms where they were all reserved for conventions and fairs that were continually going on during our stay and hotel guests who were not with a convention or fair, were not allowed to used these lounges whereby we had nowhere to sit and read a paper or have drink. There were coach loads of people also using the hotel and they were also not allowed to use the lounge rooms which were all reserved for the convention guests. also the reception staff were far from helpful and were quiet dismissive where questioned about the lounges all being reserved for the convention guests.

A wonderful vacation!!!

We didn't spend much time at the hotel but the time that we spent was great. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We walked to Dublin city center almost every day we were there. I would say its about a 20 minute walk to Grafton Street. The concierge was amazing! They booked us taxis for the mornings that we needed to be to the train super early and was very helpful with giving us directions our first couple of days there. Everyone that we dealt with was really nice and helpful. We never felt unsafe walking back to the hotel after dark from Grafton Street. And I have to say that everyone in Ireland (we took day trips all over the country) was amazingly wonderful! I will go back someday!!!

Stayed two nights at The Burlington.

Stayed two nights at The Burlington. Hotel lobby and public areas were bright warm and modern. The double room we had was not of the same standard though expected of a 4 star hotel. Room was spacious but basic and worn and needed updating. We had no remote for the tv and furniture was chipped and stained. The bathroom was in worse shape and didnt appear clean. Food was very expensive in the hotel so we choose to eat elsewhere. There was suprisingly no pool available either in such a big hotel. Overall though, the price we paid for the two nights was great value on [website]and beat the hotels own online price gaurantee.
