GREAT LOCATION BUT SERVICE NEEDS WORK

I was a travel agent for 10 years so i know about great services in general.Hotel des Etrangers et Miramare is to me a 4 star not a 5 starRooms are a bit small. but very clean.However the room temperature cannot be adjusted which means i was too hot at night and a bit cold during the day which was an inconvenience.I went to the reception ,they told me they would send someone,never did!!the room tel did not work.This is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel.Our sea view was fantastic! i highly recommend it! Staff is niceand professional.GREAT CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WITH GREAT VIEW ON THE TOP FLOOR!OVERALL, GOOD STAY ,GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE DUOMO, WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING IN SIRACUSA ( ORTIGIA)YOUR PRICE WAS GREAT SO OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL BUT AS A 4 STAR.THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Wow!
Our stay at Hotel Des Etrangers was wonderful. The staff was incredibly helpful and really went out of their way to make us feel special. All meals - including their superior breakfast - are served on the rooftop terrace overlooking the sea. This is a real treat! The hotel is located on the island of Ortigia and is within walking distance of all the popular sights on the island. The free shuttle stops across the street from the hotel which makes travel to Siracusa very convenient. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel - TRUE five star accomodations with outstanding service.
