The hotel is fantastic...The webiste's room descriptions are not.

This was our third time at the Keio Plaza Tokyo. We didn't even look elsewhere because we had been so happy with the hotel twice before...but...this time we booked a superior room through obz without realizing the pictures on the website were NOT representative of the room we were to receive (although they were similar to the rooms we had previously stayed in). The superior room was actually an older, smaller room (in the south tower) badly in need of a redecorate. The room pictures on obz are of premier rooms. We know this because we ended up moving into one. Although I am not sure what the standard of rooms are across the whole hotel, I would not consider booking a room at this hotel if there is any possibility of it being in the south tower. Even the feel of the south tower elevator/lobby area changes as you approach it. The main tower is much more prestigious. At the hotel, breakfast is good but pricey (¥2300+);the sushi restaurant unbelievably good (although again, expensive), the bar sophisticated (but yes, pricey), and the convenience store very well stocked and well priced, too. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to Shinjuku station - perfect for access to everywhere, and a few an easy steps from shops and restaurants. There is a shuttle bus to/from the airport as well, in case you don't fancy braving the JR train crowds with suitcases!

Shopping tip: Not Applicable

If you want to shop in Tokyo, our faves are Kiddyland and LaForet in Harajuku for toys and kitsch; Kappabashi Dori (near Asakusa) for all things kitchen, and Super Potatoes in Akihabara for retro video games. And if, like us, you're a bit nerdy - you'll be needing a day trip to Odaiba to see the emerging science museum and Sega Joypolis.

Japan Hotels are exspensive, but E/B was the best price

First time to book with E/B but £80 + per night cheaper than direct. Good position and large room for Tokyo. Only £20 a night more than Washington Hotel which is a very small room. Bus direct from both Airports is good, better than train as have to carry up stairs and about 1/3 mile.if no case ok. Have stayed there 3 times and good value if you compare with other 4 * Hotels.

Buy a 1 day ticket for JR train 730 yen... If going long distance check Rail pass, 2 types. One you must buy here the other there. Depens where you are going.

great view, great location

Excellent clean air-conditioned rooms with a view. Staff reasonably good English (from the perspective of someone with no Japanese language skills), endlessly polite and competent. Food and restaurants generally expensive, I usually eat at Royal Host north across the street for western-style breakfasts, and of course many cheaper lunch and dinner options are available all around. Shinjuku station is a straight 5 minutes walk east through the tunnel from the north entrance of Keio P.

Ausgezeichnete Restaurants in unmittelbarere Nähe (teilweise sensationell!). Personal hervorragend - insbesondere die Guest Relations sehr hilfreich! Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse vorhanden.
