The perfect hotel to stay in Tokyo
Just a little b-moll: Continental breakfast buffet is close to poor, should be improved. Was much better in 2009. Sounds strange that e-mail use is charged for. One of the keyboards should at least be repared. some of the letters on one of the keybords have totally disappeard. We have experienced hotels at which e-mail use was part of the service. Everything else is perfect.

Very good location and a lovely
Very good location and a lovely hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for us even though they couldn't always understand us. They certainly tried to be as helpful as possible. Room was OK and a bit bigger than the other european hotels we had stayed at.

Shiba Park! Good Spot~
I felt that the location was very good. It was within walking distance to Tokyo Tower and Zojoji. There are also several metro/subway lines within walking distance, so visiting different parts of the city will not be a problem. There are many food places to eat at, too. In all, a very central location. The rooms were clean and there were enough amenities, and the staff were nice and helpful.

Still a quiet retreat
When I was first introduced to Shiba Park Hotel in 1996, it was a thriving Japanese business hotel...reasonably priced, quiet, and very conveniently located. Today the hotel has become a haven for European and American families and 'back-packers' traveling on a budget. There is no gym or pool and laundry service is expensive and not always available. The lobby is still pretty smoky at times, though the hotel does have non-smoking rooms that don't reek of stale tobacco. There are two buildings...one of which has been newly remodeled. Typcial of Japanese hotels, the pillows and mattresses are hard. The rooms are generally small and spartan, but somehow it all works. The staff is courteous and helpful.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Most of the hotel restaurants are too expensive and mediocre. Your best bet is to eat in one of the many great restaurants in the neighborhood. The hotel staff can give you great maps of the surrounding area and metro system.
