Really relaxing, but still close to many attractions
I stay there and was ready to go out for some fun, it was not a problem since everything is close and taxy is very cheap. But the environment of the hotel was really calm, relaxing, and appealing, that we decided to stay inside for a couple of days, no regrets!

Fantastic location holiday
We were originally on our way to Australia via Kuala Lumpur . We had to change our plans and ended up with 10 days at the Berjaya Langkawi. With no preconceived idea of our holiday we can both say as a couple it was one of our best holidays yet . The scenery ,wildlife and quality of the resort could not be faulted.numerous monkeys, flying squirrels and lizards. The Thai and beach restaurant were excellent . The lobby bar , pearl restaurant and main restaurant were good but we were pleased to have the option of free shuttle bus to amenities at the Oriental Village and Cable Car plus £3 taxi to Perdana Quay with on other 6 restaurants to choose from. Sunset boat trip is a must and a taxi to Chenang resort was only £6 if you need night life. All easily attainable from the lavish lobby. Beach pool & water sports all good. Spa was being moved on our visit so couldn't comment although beach massage was very good. Would go back tomorrow!!!

We did hire a car for 2 days but taxis are so cheap you can see enough of the island if you plan.

Langkawi January 2013
My trip to Langkawi was for one of my closest friend's wedding. The entire wedding party stayed at the Andaman except for myself and 3 other girls as we were on a budget. Having the opportunity to compare both hotels, The Berjaya was far better value for money. The Berjaya is next door to the Oriental Village for the cable car tour and has shops and restaurants. It may be cheaper to eat at the small cafe type places in the Oriental Village, but the food at the Berjaya is far better and actually isn't that expensive. My favourite restaurant is the Thai restaurant on the pier. Fantastic value for money! I'm very fussy when it comes to room and especially bathroom standards and I have to say that The Berjaya was very clean and appeared new. I invited the bride, groom and a couple of friends to visit from The Andaman and they were very impressed with the poolside and the Thai restaurant we took them to. The were shocked at how cheap the bill was in comparison to The Andaman. If I was to visit Langkawi again, I'd definitely stay here again.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
Dine at the Thai Restaurant at the end of the pier. If you dine during the early bird hours (we booked a table at 17:30), you get a 20% off the food bill. A party of 8 of us dined there with cocktails, a few starters, mains we didn't all finish and dessert cost us less than £15 each and that included the tip!!

Chalet style hotel with daily
Chalet style hotel with daily activities for kids. Quick check in was quick and the staff are friendly. Should not miss the free mangrove tour provided by the hotel which is also suitable for kids. One should also not miss the Thai restaurant which provide both good food and sunset view. The breakfast are ok and if you sit on the side near to the swimming pool, you might get to watch the squirrels running around below. Cons is that if raining, there are no shelters and an umbrella is necessary.

'Beautiful Setting'
Hotel room itself was disappointing - it was badly in need of updating and not well represented by the photos on the website. However, we did get the room much cheaper by using [...] and the hotel facilities were great, particularly the pool and restaurants. The setting was also beautiful and the wildlife amazing. It's difficult to leave the resort, however, unless you hire a car and the prices within the resort were expensive.
