great for couples...romantic
awesome!!!!!! our room was fantastic.... we had some chilly weather and rain a couple days and we were happy to hang out in the room. Very peaceful, great resteraunts, lots of activities to stay busy.

Excellence Playa Mujeres
Great hotel, exceptional rooms, and excellent staff. However, we thought that the food available for dinner was well below average and the resort can be a bit sleepy at night. The beach is okay, but not outstanding, and the available activities may feel limited to some guests. Would only recommend to couples that aren't foodies but like to drink in the sun

Amazing!
The only negative thing I can say about this resort is the cold pools. There were days I didn't see a single person in them because of the water temperature. I read this in other reviews previous to booking our trip and took a chance. They have hammocks and chairs for the pools but they were never used. So if lounging in the pool with a cocktail is important to you then this might not be the resort for you. Other than that, the resort is amazing. Excellent service, clean, relaxing, and fun!

Awwww Paradise
Excellence was the nicest all inclusive resort I have stayed at hands down, but I was really disappointed with room service. They couldn't get my order right and then spoke down to me when I explained again what I wanted on my sandwhich. I was informed that it is only "obvious" that All sandwhiches come with lettuce, tomato, and onions. The sandwhich didn't come with lettuce or tomato I asked for that and they added onions on their own which was not in the description on the menu. We all make mistakes but they were indignant in speaking to me. Fortunately they have many restaurants that have amazing food so room service can be ignored all together. My friend did order room service and was not happy with her meal, the restuarants do have the option of boxing your food up and allowing you to take it back to your room. I had an amazing time and will definitely go back!! I didn't have to step off the resort the whole time. Maybe next time I can stay longer and actually see Cancun but I have no regrets.

Perfect for a Sunny Getaway!
We just went to Playa Mujere for a long weekend to get away from the midwest winter for a while. Everything about the resort is fabulous. The staff was extra attentive to all of our needs and went above and beyond time and time again. We couldn't be happier with our stay.

LOVED EVERYTHING, except the bed!!!
My husband and I needed a little break together (we have 1 year old twin boys). We wanted to go someplace that had everything we needed, without us having to put a lot of work into our vacation. We wanted to sleep, eat and sit on the beach. Nothing more, nothing less. The hotel was beautiful. The staff was wonderful. The food was delicious. The entertainment, fun. The bed sucked. My granite countertops are as soft as the beds. This hotel met everything we were looking for, except the sleeping part as my hips hurt from the bed. My husbands ribs hurt from the bed. Again, everything more than met our expectations, except the bed.

Winter Getaway
Just returned from a week at the Excellence and must say it was an outstanding experience. My wife and I were looking for a place to escape the Michigan winter and selected Playa Mujeres with no regrets. The rooms were very nice, the service was excellent, the food was quite good and the overall facility was exceptional.
