good stuff first
the resort was wonderful, top shelf all the way. nothing one could do about the weather except maybe they could have turned up the heat in the hot tubs. we were there for a week and only saw 3 people in the pool and maybe 20 in the hot tubs,food was great

if you want to go to alsa mujueres there is an old ferry you can walk to (there is a sidewalk) 15-20 min to get there and it cost $6.oousd round trip

Nice place to get away from everything.
This was the first trip for my wife and I. We have to say that this was a great trip but we still had trouble at the resort. First they said they did not have any king size beds, but when I became rough with the person, the room was ready in an hour. The person behind the desk just wanted money to get us in a room with a king size bed. We did not like this and the next day there was no room service, we had to call in. Also do not exchange money at the hotels, they gave us 12 for 1 but when you go outside it was 13.5 for 1, not a big difference but it does add up if you are planing to go outside. Also the bed was not very comfortable, still have back pains from the bed. Outside of this it was a very nice place. Staff was very nice.

I would for the most part stay at the resort. The flee market and anyother store out in Cancun will and they do ripe you off. I had one store try to sell me a $50-60 chain for $1,000 USD. Also the taxi, do not pay more than 20, including tip. I had a taxi driver say the fare was 30 + tip and when I said 20 he said how about 25. I gave him 22 and he used the F word right at me while my wife was there. Just be aware not to get ripped off and to hold your ground.

A beautiful property
This is the first time we've been to an adults only hotel and I have to say that I would highly recommend it to those who want to have a romantic and relaxing vacation. This resort really caters to couples and tries to make it a romantic get-away. The food was excellent and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful with lots of pools and a white sand beach. They provide entertainment nightly and many activities during the day if you don't want to sit by the pool. We usually don't travel to the same spot because we like to see other parts of the world, but this is definitely a place we will return to in the future.

Beatiful Resort
The resort was very beatiful. The staff was exceptional, very friendly and accomodating. The food was very good compared to what you get in Cancun and with great variety.

Excellence Resort Playa Mujeres
Staff was wonderful and friendly; room was gorgeous; grounds were beautiful; hotel was very clean. Breakfast and lunch were fine; dinner was not very good.

Excellence- Playa Mujeres
Room layout was perfect. Large private balcony with day bed and table. Jacuzzi tub that opens to patio was wonderful, especially considering the "hot" tubs in the resort were tepid. Food was good, but not great. Good quality alcohol, but too few servers out by the pool and beach.

from cancun airport, it should cost only around 30 for one way. taxi from hotel to airport is 35. don't use hotel private transfer which would cost 138 roundtrip...

Total Relaxation
We just returned from 7 days at Playa De Mujeres and had a wonderful time. We did not leave the resort and went strictly for the pure relaxation of the resort. The staff was phenominal and we could not have been treated more kindly or respectfully. The weather was perfect and with the resort only being 60% full, we did not have to wait for any meals and did not have any trouble finding a place to sit at the pool. Plan on walking a short distance to the many bars around the pool areas for drinks as service can be slow at times. I believe we must be food snobs so with that being said, the food was just OK. We did like Spice, Agave and Chez Isabelle the best. The buffet breakfast was also a huge hit for us...especially the omlete station. We upgraded to a Gulf view which is totally a personal choice. We enjoyed the upgraded service, especially in the Excellence Club lounge before dinner. We did have to squawk a little to get our room cleaned at a convenient time for us. Room service was also very good! There were plenty of evening activities at the hotel for our enjoyment, even if we were just listening to the live music from the bed on our balcony.

Choose a travel company to and from the report other than Gray Line and Mayaland Tours (their subcontractor). We had to meet with them twice during our stay to arrange the ride back and they were still 1/2 hour late picking us up.

meets expectations
from check in to check out, great time. lots of activities on site, if you wanted 'em. but you could also just relax in quiet solitude. with the exception of hibatchi-style dinner, food was really good. service always great. staff really tried to accomodate any request. off the beaten path, which worked in my favor as i wanted quiet and had no plans to leave the property. evening shows ok, although "michael jackson" retrospective actually impressed me - the mj impersonator was "spot on". large diversity of people - ages, backgrounds. not stuffy.
