Great place to stay!
Overall, our trip to G.C. Paradise was enjoyable and more than we expected! We arrived on a Monday and stayed until Sat. The first 3 days were very quiet, but there was a small local seminar being held the latter part of the week and things got more crowded & noisier around the pool area...especially Thursday night. Hotel security took care of the noise next night, I think. The food was satisfactory, especially for all-inclusive! Don't forget that the sister resort next door is also included! We visited the breakfast buffet there where they have made-to-order omelets. The cheeseburgers and soft mini-tacos at pool-side were a hit!The pool at the resort is very clean and beautiful. We noticed the staff around constantly cleaning and making things pretty. There was always a crew of men on the beach in the morning raking the seaweed & other small debris that may have washed on shore over night! There was only beautiful sand....no small rocks in front of the hotel! We did have a bad experience when leaving the airport to get to the hotel. There will be men waiting on you with carts to carry your luggage to a "taxi". (We specifically asked for a TAXI, but our luggage was then out of sight & we were taken to a counter where they tried to heavy-sell a tour package to us.) I had to get very ugly and demanded to have our luggage back which had already been put into a car's trunk. Luckily, a young man came to our aid & had them remove it and we were finally on our way. We found that taxi rides can be anywhere from 120 pesos - 60 pesos. The only other thing about P.V., in general, that you will have to get used to is the VENDORS on the beach. Just learn to say "No Thanks" about 1 million times during your stay!We met a LOT of very nice people at the resort that we will probably keep in touch with. Don't miss the baby sea turtle release at sunset! This is a nice time to talk to other visitors! (The hotel gathers the eggs that sea turtles lay on the beach overnight to save them from predators to be released by the visitors in a ceremony at sunset!!)The activities at the pool are fun as well! Don't miss Tequila Volleyball! Lots of fun...We would definitely visit this resort again. (There was a gentleman, his wife & her mom that had been coming there for the last 24 years!) Tell "[...]" we said "Hello"!!!

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Nitro Club across the street is part of the resort, but if you miss it don't sweat it! It's a HUGE club, but there's hardly anyone ever there and the entertainment could be better. Several people we talked to enjoyed it, but it just wasn't for us. Take a taxi downtown and visit one of the lively clubs there instead!

Great Resort...Terrible Club
We have been to Mexico several times, but this was our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was beautiful! You can see the ocean, mountains and wild dolphins. The staff was amazing and you could get room service and sit down restaurants as part of the all inclusive without reservations. The restaurants with reservations were even more incredible! I would like to warn people that there are hundreds of vendors on the beach. You can not sit and enjoy the ocean waves without people stepping into your view and aggressively badgering you to buy junk every two minutes. These vultures are not allowed on the resort property, but the beach is public and they surround the edges yelling to you when you are at the pool. The other downfall to this resort is that the "disco" that is part of the resort is aweful. The staff charged us $250.00 pesos($25 US)for for drinks when they were supposed to be part of the all inclusive. Then the waiter brought only two drinks. When we asked for the other two, he tried to charge us ten dollars more. When we confronted him, he lied and said that he had brought the four drinks. Needless to say, we left and we did not return. Everyone we spoke with had a terrible time at the "club". There are plenty of fun places downtown and the cabs are reasonable. Finally, we would recommend that if you go on excursions, Vallarta Adventures was awesome! We went on 3 trips with them and they were professional and incredible! Trying to get a break on a 4th trip, we talked to a guy on the beach about an ATV trip. After 4 hours of "adventure", we finally got to the place where our 4-wheeling trip was supposed to begin. The tour was through a busy town with lots of traffic. I came around a corner at one point and my husbands ATV was tilted to the side. The tire had fallen off. The company also had zip-lines, but if the tires could fall off of the ATV, I did not want to be hundreds of feet over the jungle when something else broke! We met some great people and had a wonderful time! The adventure was worth it!

[...]Overall the staff was very nice. However, many of them were too pushy in trying to get us to sign up for "time share" breakfasts. Sounds ok, but the early morning phone calls reminding us of our reservations such that we were waken up every morning by annoying inquires. They do offer many restaurants to choose from but the food wasn't very good. They have a Mediterranean, Mexican, Italian, and French restaurants. The same food was offered at each but recycled in a different form. The staff at a few of these were completely rude and kick us out one night as the clock struck ten, which is when they close. They didn't just ask us to leave but stood there staring until they could escort us out. Similar things happened at other times. Finally, hotel management needs to do something about the beach merchants. It's all fun and good until you can't say no and have the people respect that. Furthermore, the merchants assemble on the beach right near the pool turning a relaxing poolside experience into a full on assault with no way out. Don't get me wrong, it was fun but could have been better…………………………………………………………………..

Excellent Trip
The hotel was very nice. All of the staff was very friendly during our stay. The food was below average at best. The rooms were not that clean but we didn't spend a ton of time in the room. I really liked the room service aspect of the resort. All of the staff was very friendly. Staying at an adults-only resort is really nice too. You wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference but it really does.

Pretty Good Trip; better for the money.
I have vacationed in several Latin America resorts, all of them all-inclusive resorts, and I have to say this was probably the best. Nice hotel, clean rooms, 24 Free Room Service(!), nice staff, and THE BEST ALCOHOL of any all-inclusive I've been to. I got name-brand everything. The beer is ******** or ****** but that is the lowest they go. All the hard liquor is top shelf. The pool is the nicest I've seen, within a nice horizon-gaze right into the ocean. The location is a 5-minute walk from some nice stores and Star****'s coffee--they offer free internet if you buy anything, so don't pay for internet at the hotel. There is a laundromat just past Star****. This all-inclusive is a bit nicer since they give you free room service, but you should always tip, they treat you better if you do(every hotel does). The hotel is not brand new, and the food at the main restaurant is so-so, but you can go to the buffet in the partner hotel (free, they're 2-halves of the same resort)free and the food there is very good. The specialty restaurants are wonderful. There are four bars and 2-3 nightclubs that are nearby or attached and the hotel gives you free alcohol at all of them(they announce which ones on which nights). For the taxi ride, ask for setenta pesos to get into town, that is the correct price the locals get--unless you go to the Zona Romantico(farther). The bed was a typical resort bed, but actually a bit better than most. Don't use the phone there, it's too expensive. Buy a phone card and use it at a pay phone (right outside the hotel). This hotel isn't perfect, but none are. No vacation is. The people who complain on here seem like they don't travel enough to know what to expect.
