Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe Riviera Maya - All Inclusive

For 2 nights all the Buffet at the bacelo palace were closed we had to go to the colonial to eat.why pay more.it was the same in the afternoon the pool buffet was closed .It is off season then they should tell you that all the amenitys are not open.

worst food ever, unfrendly stuff, boring. Will not recomend to the friends.

Front Desk Staffs are inexperienced and takes 30 mininutes to check out.

The service was slow and poor. The food was cold at every sit down meal. Reservations were required to not eat at a buffett restaurant and were difficult to get at decent times. The beds were like sleeping on concrete and who ever told them the beds were queen beds were clearly mistaken. Slightly larger than a twin...slightly. There "top shelf" vodka was Absolut or Stoli.

This resort is huge and depending on where your room is located, most of your time will be spent walking back and forth. The beach is beautiul there without too many rocks. The absolute WORST part of this resort is the beds. I absolutely CANNOT recommend this resort because the beds are HORRIBLE!!! Imagine sleeping on a box spring with a pad on top. Many of the workers do not speak English which makes communication difficult in many instances. Cancun is much more tourist friendly. Overall I would say - NO to this resort. I was planning to relax for 9 days and wasn't able to sleep more than a couple of hours each night - pretty much ruined my vacation. I cannot believe this is rated a 5 star - more like 3.0.

We were hoping for a wonderful time. It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. There were empty lounge chairs galore at the beach and the pool, unfortunately we couldn't sit in any of them -- people had reserved them all with their towels the night before. Hard to believe there was no where to sit. We spent 15 minutes each time we moved from the beach to the pool trying to move 4 chairs together so we could sit together. Hardly what we expected after paying so much money for this resort. The activities were very restricted in terms of time and we had to go three times before we could get any snorkeling equipment. In theory this all inclusive looks great, but in reality, not so good for a family who is active and doesn't wan to scout out and reserve chairs 12 hours in advance and then lay in those same chairs all day long without changing location.

My family and I stayed at the Barcelo Maya Palace and the resort was as expected, very nice and the beaches were great! However, I would not recommend paying extra for the premium package at the resort as it is stated you will receive more personalized attention and preferential treatment, which was not the case. We had no AC for 2 1/2 days and after 5 requests over 2 days it was finally fixed. Requests for additional towels delivered to our room were ignored. Either short staffed or they just don't care either way being a premimum guests meant nothing to them.

My wife and I recently took our first trip to Mexico and stayed at the Barcelo Maya Palace. Staying at the Palace gives you access to all the resorts (there's 4 I think on the compound). While we visited the beach at all of them we never ventured into any of the other buffets or restaurants. It seems like you could stay anywhere on the compound and enjoy the beautiful pools and beaches. The staff was great and buffets were good. We ate at the Brasserie one night, but honestly I enjoyed the buffet more. The food was decent in the restaurant but we had more fun with the flexibility of eating what we wants and not committing to a long dinner. Beach was great for snorkeling and had some good swim spots. Not the best beach and not the worst. Something for everyone. We stayed in a suite overlooking the ocean. Amazing views and great room. Bar was stocked daily and staff was very attentive. If you have the option, get the Premium Club package. It gets you some extra perks like free room service and express checkin/out. It helped out a couple times.

Clean rooms, nice comfortable bed, no bar on the beach, drinks were okay, bartenders not that friendly, pools are amazing, food was top notch. If you can't walk a lot I don't recommend it.

We had a great time. Nice resort, perfect for family vacations.
