No Swine Flu Impact

Terrific hotel, fantastic staff. Swine flu hit while we were there. By the end of the week the resort wasn't as full, but the level of service went from Good to Outstanding. Evening stage entertainment was little campy, but done with tons of energy and effort. I would have stayed another week if time allowed.

Empty Resort

The Hotel was very nice, but the swine flu scared everyone away. The hotel was almost empty so I think some things would have been better if more people were there. Also we went with another couple that booked their vacation through another company and they had much better service than we had. They were offered upgrade after upgrade and we were more or less ignored. We assumed it was because we booked it on Orbitz and paid much less than they did.

Great All-Inclusive Resort

We loved our stay at Secrets Maroma Beach. Our three key factors for picking Secrets were: beach/ocean color, modern room, and price. All three were as good as advertised. The beach is great and the water is as blue as the pictures. The rooms are very modern and the resort opened in August 2008, so very new. The price was maybe a hundred dollars higher than comparable resorts in the area, but the beach here is definitely the best at Secrets Maroma Beach!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Make sure you pack some cloths to head straight for the pool/beach upon arrival. We got there at 1pm and the check-in time is 3pm. Our room wasn't ready otherwise we would have been able to check in early.

Unforgetable Honeymoon

We picked the secrets maroma after searching 6 months for a honeymoon location. Traveled from March 22-29 2009. I am very particular about amenties and food and Secrets exceeded our expectation. From the response time to problems for example there is a ceiling speaker in the bathroom which allows you to listen to the TV while soaking in the jacuzzi or in the shower and we did not know how to decrease the volume but the staff came in less than 5 minutes. We really found the door bell to our room a nice touch. No annoying knocking on the door. All adult, all inclusive, superior amenties, attention to detail and price point made this decision easy. We look forward to going back. I highly recommend this resort for a romantic get away. For those looking for energetic pool side activities, loud speaker entertainment by the pool this is not the place. I want to plan a couples get-away to this location in one year. Anyone thinking of traveling and trying to decide on the swim up suites Don't!!! We never saw anyone utilize the swim up pool. The water was very cold. We noticed most of the guest enjoyed the heated pool. I've stayed at El dorado seaside resort swimup suites better design. Another great choice if the beach isn't important. The beach at maroma was the best. Clear blue water amazing how the sand stayed cool during 88 degree weather. A little windy in March but I absolutely enjoyed the beach. The most expensive category swim-up suite ocean front not worth it. The ocean is blocked by the trees which also prohibits walking directly from your room to the beach. When we return we will book a ocean front with jacuzzi on the deck 4th floor. This place has everything. for example my husband left his insect repellant home and I left my suncreen and flat iron and to our surprise they had it complimentary. We found out by accident so always ask and do not assume. If anyone has specific questions you may email me at [@]

Secrets Maroma

Trip and Hotel were great. The only issue was that we paid for partial ocean view and there was no view of the ocean at all. Very few rooms would have a view of the ocean. The room we were charged for should have been classified as garden view. Been to Mexico 6 times-never been to such a beautiful beach.
