Friendly staff, very small room

The customer service was great - the receptionist remembered our name and knew that we were checking out before we said anything on our last day. Perfect location for our stay - within 5 min walking distance to Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum, Concertgebouw. We didn't explore much, but there was a high-end shopping district near by as well. We stayed in a classic double room - the bed filled up the room and we barely had any space to spread out our four luggages. The hand soap ran out but not replenished.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to Solo bar across the street from Concergebouw after a concert. We spotted the concertmaster there. Staff was very friendly and food & wine was good.

Good place

The internet was poor and unusable in my room (and therefore I assume all rooms) and caused me undue stress. It was fine in the lobby but if you need a reliable internet connection in the rooms, don't choose this place. Otherwise everything was great. Really nice atmosphere. Good food but expensive. Nice area.

Spring for Deluxe room

Location was great, tram was a 2 minute walk from hotel. Rijks Museum was across the street. However we had a standard double room and it was intolerably small. I have traveled extensively and this was THE smallest double room I have ever seen. After one night we had to switch to upgrade to a deluxe room, which was much better. The staff was helpful. Also there is no kitchen or food service - only breakfast.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Tram is a QUICK walk and the 2 or 5 can get you into city center quickly. Also the bus to/from the airport is only a few blocks from the hotel.

Beware - liars

We have ordered it through Internet and paid as well. Stay was not too bad, but after checkout, when I paid all extra charges (like buffet etc, which was fine), I found out they charged me again for staying - full price for 2 rooms. I have contacted hotel a few times, every time the stuff promised to fix this error. After 2 months of waiting I had to fight these double payments through my credit card company, which was frustrating

GOOD HOTEL TO CHOOSE BUT LACKS QUALITY OF A BEST WESTERN

The hotel has a great location, the slow internet and from 7pm when all are connected the signal comes and goes, breakfast is the worst thing that has paid 13 euros for eating eggs, bread, ham, cereal and drinks, I can compare because I stay in hotels over 200 nights per year.

Great time in Amsterdam

The hotel staff was wonderful, check in went smoothly and the hotel staff was professional. The floor manager saw the excessive amount of luggage we had and immediately switched rooms so that we would be more comfortable. The room was spotless and comfortable with a corner view out to the Rijksmuseum to the right, the Hard Rock Cafe to the left and a busy canal across the street.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

The international restaurants are a short walk away, the museums are all within a short distance and if you're looking for some of Amsterdam's most infamous coffee shops. It's all there next to the Apollo Museum Hotel. Great stay and had a great time.

Apollo in Amsterdam

The staff was truly helpful. Although was small for to people, it was kept lean. It's proximity to he museums makes it convenient for art and history lovers, like us.

Location with friendly staffs

The rooms we were given were at the basement. And they were very very small. Small is even to big for the room. And in the BASEMENT. Are you kidding me. The location is the best part. In front of the museum square. The bathroom was awfully planned. Don't know if that is how our is done in the Netherlands. So no more comments on that. The front desk was pretty friendly. But waaaaaaaaay tooooooo pricey for the value they offer. Moreover from most of the time we didn't get the internet connection. It never went more than 2 bars. But as mentioned it was more or less stuck at 0 or 1. Hope u find it useful. Stayed September 2012
