Overall, an excellent property with helpful and pleasant staff. Very clean and great location. Would definitely recommend it and would go back. A nice touch is the minibar is included in the rate, so use all of it every day to get best value. We ate only in the bar and the food was good. Did not try the main restaurant. Wellness Center looked good, but felt a little clautrophobic being buried in the basement. Only downsides were the window didn't open & there was no air conditioning/fan control to circulate the air. Historic and beautiful historic property. Not a party place, though.

The staff was extremely helpful, the accommodations spacious, even by US standards, and immaculate. An extra bonus is the FREE MINI BAR that is replenished and includes beer, wine, water, pop, etc. Breakfast was plentiful (standard European buffett) or healthy / french breakfast in the lounge. The location was close to the train station and walking distance to museums, shops and restaurants. Would recommend it to those who like first class comfort and service.

Long walk from hotel
The Rembrandt house, although not mentioned as much as other museums, was great as it provides not only background about his life but an incredible collection of his etchings. There is an introductory video and also audio providing information about many of the paintins.

we had a lovely time staying here, every one was friendly, although we did get caught out on not realising our breakfast was was not included in the ocerall price and as a result had to pay an added 150.00 euros on top of the bill! not a happy traveller for this reason...it was not clear when booked that breakfast was not included! will be more causious next time

plenty places to eat, especially for breakfast, so suggest you take hotel only, then walk the short distance to the many cheaper cafes, pubs etc...

Convenient Location
The hotel was very nice, great staff, very clean. Well situated for touring the city. They gouge for parking, so don't drive a car there if you don't have to.

Excellent quality hotel
Idea for seeing round Amsterdam and handy for the railway station. Great staff, wonderful food, would stay again. Only complaint, Dinner cost, this could have explained why very few guests eat in the Hotel. They were the losers as the food was outstanding. Recommend the Chiefs menu, Head waiter took time to explain each of the wines.

the construction features of this hotel are very interesting, unique, and plentiful. it isn't very often that one can stay in a converted, old business structure, origionally built with expense being slight consideration. staff was first class, room large, and my first ever free mini bar!

Wonderful Anniversary Destination
Our stay was romantic and most enjoyable. The rooms and bathrooms are exceptionally large by European standards. This hotel has only been open for five years; the building used to be headquarters/offices for shipping companies. Everything and everyone was lovely!

Fabulous birthday treat
Our first trip to Amsterdam, celebrating a special birthday. The Amrath did everything they possibly could to make it one that we will remember for ever. Great location, attentive service and excellent value.

Excellent for travelers
Hotel is tastefully converted from prestigious shipping office headquarters and is in beautiful Art Nouveau style. High ceilings lead to spacious ambiance. Major attraction is walking distance from main rail station with excellent service to airport. Also within walking distance to many tourist spots including canal boats. Very satisfying breakfasts and many restaurants nearby.
