Surprise!

The staff was nice and helpful. The linens were clean and the breakfast exceeded expectations. However, the room was a disappointment. Our room was in the basement! The room was accessible by awkward stairs, both down and up. The room was dark and small (not enough room for our suit cases). The bathroom was tiny.

More than I had expected

The room (a junior suite) was large, with a kitchen (stove, a oven/microwave hybrid, a small fridge, diverse pots and cooking utensils as well as plates and cutlary provided) and a bathroom of a good size (with a bath-tub and shower, as well as an hair-dryer) a large painting (which was not really my style- moder art- ) The bed was very large, larger than most beds for two people and quite soft, as were the pillows (there were extra pillows in a cabinet) There were enough cabinets, a very large desk and a again very large tv (which could be turned around, in order to watch it from the sofa) The room was clean, bright and cosy. The personal spoke very good English and many even spoke German (besides Dutch) and all were extremely kind and obliging. The breakfast was a buffet type with various kinds of bread, cheese and meat (even warm/hot saussages and bacon), cereals (milk and yoghurt provided) There was more vegan things than I had expected (divers confitures, fruit, even cherry tomatoes) As for the drinks; quite an extensive choice of tea, coffe in various variation and also juices. The location was great- 10 minutes walking in one direction to reach the Keukenhof (where I was headed for the Castlefest festival) It is easy to find and in a quiet location (cars and busses were not to be heared, just a few people passing every now and then) The hotel also has a restaurant, which I did not visit and has a very atmosphric bar/lounge
