Excellent location, good rooms.
had
Excellent location, good rooms. had a "pillow menu" card but when enquiring about firm pillows, they didn't have any, only the one type? Also no free parking, only $30NZD Valet parking option.

Great location with helpful staff
Even though there were some communications problems with my third-party booking of this hotel, the staff made sure everything was right. The check-in counter staff and the bell captain crew were helpful, cheerful, and just a pleasure at all times. We had breakfast nearly every day of our stay there. While the breakfast buffet wasn't huge, it was always fresh and tasty. They had a version of Eggs Benedict (menu item rather than buffet) done with salmon instead of Canadian bacon that was wonderful! Again, the staff in the dining room was always helpful and pleasant. Not cheap, but worth the price. Lots of real smiles and friendly service. The towel/heater bar in the bathroom was a nice touch. Great for drying out your hand-washables. I would have preferred a firmer mattress though, especially one with independent coils so as not to disturb my husband when I toss a bit at night. Not bad, just not the best possible. We would gladly stay at CityLife again!

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Sky Bus (Air Bus?) from the airport lets you off right in front of the hotel. It cost less than NZ$30 for a round trip, and runs every half hour. That's a big savings over a taxi!

Very central to Auckland City
Very central to Auckland City and all amenities. Just a shame about the pub next door which had a party with very loud music lasting till 3am.

Wow! What a find! An apartment
Wow! What a find! An apartment hotel of very high standard right in the heart of the city on Queen Street. We booked a 3-bedroom suite which turned out to be three interconnected rooms each with private facilities, one of which had kitchen and dining facilities. We could not have been more comfortable. The location is superb, only one block from the Auckland tower and a city tour bus stop right outside the front door. Dozens of restaurants and shops within a couple of hundred metres of the hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient and the bar and restaurant were impressive. One minor drawback is the parking situation. Valet parking is $30 per night, although there are several cheaper parking stations nearby. Another minor problem is that rather noisy street sweeping vehicles pass by the hotel at about 12.30am each night. To sum up we could not have been happier or more comfortable with the hotel and would happily return on future visits to Auckland.

The hotel was well located in
The hotel was well located in the city centre. My only complaint was the lack of kitchen utensil facilities. A full kitchette was provided (oven, microwave, stove, dishwasher) however only 1 small saucepan and basic cutlery available. A sharp cutting knife/s and tray for the oven would make the kitchenette more useable.

We only stayed one night but would
We only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay longer. Very central location. Good for theatres and shopping. Had a view of the Sky Tower from our room! The hotel room was very clean and well decorated. We used the valet parking which is a little over-priced at $30 per night but very convenient. The heated indoor pool and gym were a real bonus.
