City Life with all the +'s & -'s
Location for walking was great! Parking, however, was VERY DIFFICULT and the car entrance almost impossible to find (it also cost $30 a day additional too boot!). Wouldn't recommend it if you are traveling by car. Rooms are spacious and VERY clean, but there is A LOT of Bar/Street noise and we were on the 11th floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, but you could tell they were tired about hearing of the parking problems. They had no solution to offer other than a discounted rate. Helpful, but It would be better to have appropriate space for loading and unloading, never mind actual parking.

Auckland Heritage City Life. Well located centrally on main Queen Street. Comfortably equipped apartments within hotel setting with pool and gym, valet parking and full restaurant including room service. In flat private laundry=kitchen acceptable but lack of cooking utensils and preparation knives etc would make full meal preparation impossible. Spacious accommodation compensates for his though

For the large number we had staying
For the large number we had staying we had to use the foldaway beds which were not at all comfortable but all other sevices and facilities couldn't be faulted. We found all the staff extremely professional, friendly and helpful.

The standout to me was the exemplary standard of service from all the staff. It wasn't just one or two people - every staffmember that I met was helpful, engaging and friendly. I will definitely return.

Perfect hotel; great location and price
My wife and I were in Auckland for vacation and chose CityLife based on reviews. It was great -- perfect location for sightseeing, very good rooms and a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Try for a higher floor where you can have a limited view of the water and a great view of the Sky Tower. It is not a luxury hotel and does not have a business center but I would definitely stay again, for holiday or for business.

Very accomodating
The staff acknowledged that we had just come from a 12 hour flight and arranged a room for us 3 hours ahead of their normal check-in time. Being our first time to Auckland, the concierce service was extremely helpful. The hotel was centrally located in downtown Auckland, and bus service was convenient with stops at the hotel. The hotel provided discounted taxi service as well. We would stay there again.

Short drive from hotel
If you like fine dining, try Antoine's in the Parnell district. Get reservations, and you can take the local bus that gets you there in about 10 minutes. We especially liked the rack of lamb. The museum (with Maori show) is on the same bus loop, as are lots of shopping areas.
