The Quadrant Hotel Auckland

For the money, the room was OK. Clean and had the essentials including a refrigerator, cooktop and microwave oven. However, the local mini-marts didn't have much that you would want to cook. Parking was $28 a day - kind of expensive. The rooms were noisy, so it was hard to sleep. The gym was not what I expected. If you are expecting to get in a good work out, forget it. If you only want a sauna, it's ok. When you arrive, park in front of the entry way as they only have valet parking. The people were very nice, but the hotel overall is a bit over rated. Looks better on the website than it really is. Location was good - walking distance to lots aall of downtown Auckland.

The hotel has a "South Beach" theme with music and video everywhere. Decore is plush and up to date. Staff are friendly and attentive. Central location is outstanding.

Modern and clean near downtown

This is a very nice hotel in a good location. Room was very small but very pleasant and included a kitchen. Hotel was between downtown and parks with green space for a walk or run. A 5-10 minute walk to either. We liked easy access to both the downtown area and green space. The Parnell district was a 15 minute walk for shops and a range of restaurants. Hotel was small giving it a homey feeling. A small coffee shop provided breakfasts and snacks but no restaurant for dinner in the hotel. Not a problem for us but it may be important to others. I would gladly stay there again.

We were on vacation and used this hotel as a base for several day excursions. Great location, very friendly staff and super clean! The in room kitchen and laundry came in very handy several times!

Nice, small kitchen with mini oven, stove, fridge, teakettle, and even washer/dryer. Great views from high floors. Close to University and main shopping street. If you don't mind hills (think San Francisco with more, shorter, and steeper hills) this hotel is walking distance to lots of things to do. Soft good quality sheets and towels, but shower only--no bathtub. Bedroom and separate living space both small but satisfactory. Free wireless internet. Could not have asked for better hotel for the price. [...] price significantly lower than the hotel's offered convention group rate.

The hotel was in a great location within walking distance of most tourist destinations in Auckland. we walked everywhere while we were there and it didn't seem like too much effort. There were great views from our room of the harbour and Auckland University. The hotel also felt pretty safe because you had to scan your hotel card in the elevator to gain access to your floor. Overall a good experience.

Everything went pretty well, room was nice and had a balcony with a nice breeze and a view. There was also a nice shower and refrigerator for use, as well as free WIFI. One small problem, we were told breakfast was free but only for one person (although we booked the room including breakfast with two guests). When I asked later I was told it was included for both. At checkout I was once again told it was only included for one person. They did take the charges off, but it would have been nice to get the same answer rather than risk it (The breakfast was $16, but was only cereal and fruit).

The staff here was first-rate. Knowledgeable about the surrounding area and happy to help make guests happy. Modern rooms, a small but suitable gym and sauna, and a great location make this a superb place to stay. Plus, some rooms have a great view of the water (through some high rises and a neighborhood, but still nice to see).

The hotel was modern and clean. The service staff was very helpful. Rooms are very small. Location is good.
