The hotel and its facilities were
The hotel and its facilities were generally good, nice modern hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean and well equipped except it had only one wine glass. We asked for a second glass at reception and after waiting one and a half hours with no response we had to raid one of the tables in the restaurant to get a glass. The room also had a courtyard which was covered with cigarette butts. When we pointed this out the staff asked if we wanted it cleaned, we told them it was up to them but that it was their reputation being affected, it was not cleaned. The shower was also interesting, very weak flow and then intermittently the water flow would just stop for a few seconds then start again very cold before heating up again. Other than these issues the hotel and room were fine.

Generally, satisfied with the cleanliness, services and location. However, if complimentary newspapers are provided, suggest that this be hung on the door knob or placed outside the door. We had to ask for it by the end of the day and it was then supplied to us.

staff were great, but had to wait
staff were great, but had to wait 2 hours after check in time before i could get to my room. orderd food of room menu and didin't get all the things we were ment to get.

This is our 4th stay here and
This is our 4th stay here and have noticed the standards have slipped a bit. Leaving our car for valet parking was impossible, as there was no room. So eventually - we just parked it ourselves. Mould is forming in the tiles in the shower and the water temperature was ok for me, but fluctuated terribly when my Husband had his shower. The light in the bathroom kept on flicking off? (if you banged the wall, eventually it would come back on again) We have enjoyed The Quadrant in the past as it was a new hotel, but the price has jumped up and it is starting to show a little wear and tare now too. May be our last stay.

Good one night stay
Had a good one night stay here. Our flight got in before check-in and the hotel allowed us to check in early since our room was ready, they also let us borrow an adapter to charge our electronic devices. Easy check-in and check-out process.

Sky Tower food court had some good cantonese style roast duck with noodle soup we also had dinner at the Snob which was also pretty good.

Great for long stays
The Quad is central to most everything in Auckland, a short walk to the art gallery, the Domain, ferries to Devonport and Waiheke, High Street, Queen Street. We stayed for a couple of months and found it to be convenient and comfortable and quiet except for the occasional holiday weekend . The rooms feature a washer.dryer and a little cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and fridge and our room had a nice terrace; maid service was steady. All in all, an excellent place to stay.

The Old Government House in the park across the street from the Quad has a dining room with good lunches (fabulous lamb shank; great chicken burgers). Unbelievably reasonably priced! It's part of the university campus so it's populated by teachers!

Pros: * Pretty cheap, great location, some of the staff are excellent Cons: * can take a while for houskeeping people to come through * for some rooms it's impossible to connect your computer to the tv (even though there are plenty of connectors on the back of the tv) * some of the staff aren't quite as excellent
