Spent an enjoyable 5 nights at

Spent an enjoyable 5 nights at Rydges. Staff all very obliging - service prompt. Deluxe room lovely big clean bathroom and main room. I would book in there again.

Very nice motel. We were upgraded

Very nice motel. We were upgraded to an even more luxurious room for free (don't know the reason but said thanks!). The city smells of sulfur, but you can't blame the motel.

The hotel is a short cab ride

The hotel is a short cab ride from the centre of town, quite a long walk, so not as conveniently located if you were wanting to be close to the Events Centre. That said the cab fare is around $13. I was upgraded to a King Bed, the room was enormous with a Spa and on the ground floor. The air conditioning worked well and there was no offensive odour that Rotarua is famous for. Front desk and dining staff were very friendly and anxious to please (New Zealanders are renowed for this).

Overall my stay was pleasant .

Overall my stay was pleasant . There were either some very noisy visitors or staff on my floor which went on until 11.30 each day and begab at 5.30. Also there was a smell of smokers in the corridor > my room No was 206 . I also had a bar of chocolate that I had purchased removed rom the fridge

Love the big room's. Always stay

Love the big room's. Always stay there when I am in town. Only down side is no aircons for the warmer nites!
