California couple
Well located, average older hotel
our room faced another building 20 ft away. Small shower with no shower door or curtain. A shower soaked the bathroom. The hotel elevator was broken for 2 of the 4 days we were there. Avg rooms and amenities. Old hotel but right on Cuba St, a great place to be situated. It was about $150 US , a decent price overall, but not a bargain.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Cuba St has great shopping and bars/restaurants. Lots of street performers and a 'happening' feel to it. The waterfront is only a 10 minute walk. Some good restaurants with ok bay views.

Very nice hotel, good location,
Very nice hotel, good location, really helpful and polite staff. Our room was on the 8th floor which had a nice all around view and had a balcony. Unfortunately some people had a party on the back street which was surprisingly noisy and annoying at night. The restaurant was nicely furnished. We had breakfast and dinner there, and the food was very nicely presented and delicious. I would stay there in the future and I can recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rooms very large and good quality,
Rooms very large and good quality, excellent value for money but found mattress far too soft. Make sure you ask for rooms away from Cuba St. very noisy especially from Fish Market across the road - started at 4 am. Floor shook from any footsteps and heavy trucks passing, not good for nervous ChCh visitors. Great location but Cuba St is quite scruffy in places, needs upgrading.

We found a good special rate of
We found a good special rate of NZ$115/night (min 2 nights) which was supercheap for a large room with full kitchenette (cooktop, microwave, fridge, sink bench) desk area/lounge chairs & 2 large beds (king or Qn, can't remember). Very happy at that price, but it WAS a special deal and when I wanted to return the prices had increased so I stayed elsewhere.

Great size rooms 2 Queen beds
Great size rooms 2 Queen beds and basic cooking facilities. plenty of space. Bathroom had a bath with shower over it. Very happy with this hotel will definitely stay there again when in Wellington

An excellent well situated Hotel.
An excellent well situated Hotel. We had one sunny day and forgot to pull the drapes. Came back to a room that was unbearably hot.No air conditioning and none of the windows opened. The Fan was useless. Don't stay there in Summer.

All in all a great stay. Only
All in all a great stay. Only downside was that housekeeping started very early on our floor and were quite noisy.
