Great location

Plus - great for access to trams/buses/harbour minor minuses - its plainly just a job to the staff - breakfast area could not cope with the number of guests; although th equality of food was good. major minuses - no milk in room to go with tea/coffee facilities. Receptionist clueless suggests going to th ebar as they may have some "probably"!! Bar can provide this in a mug but with no fridge in th eroom have to use it immediately not the next day. On the Sunday staff wanted to clean room at 7pm!! when it had been empty all day. Would NOT take NO for an answer

Great location, great breakfast

Excellent location, a short walk from the train station, major shopping street and all major attractions. There are a lot of dining options nearby too. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was a little warm, though I expect for most of the year this isn't a problem. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay.

Don't do it

The location is really bad. There is a bar across the street and it is VERY noisy outside. Since there is no air conditioner, leaving the window open was necessary. The noise continued to well past midnight. The restaurant is too small to handle groups. They ran out of napkins! The bar is ridiculous. The floor was never swept and the coffee maker was dirty but didn't work anyway. To think I paid for an upgrade. Horribly disappointing.

Great stay

Room was small but very clean and modern. Breakfast was very good, although it got pretty crowded after 8:30 and it was hard to find a table. The location is great, as was the price. Overall, very happy with the hotel.

Tidy boutique hotel

I had an overall good stay at this hotel. The breakfast is ample and most welcome, given the exhorbitance of Oslo prices for food and goods. The staff was very helpful and I was able to walk back to Central Station, though I found it easiest to take a cab from the station to the hotel. My only gripe would be with the room's bathroom. There was some sort of pipe exposed in the middle of the floor. It's a very small complaint, but something that a hotel of this stature should look into repairing. Good restaurant downstairs and a nice television in the room.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If you're coming from Central Station, take Prinsesgate. It's a short walk of 10 minutes or less to the hotel, one block north.

You get what you pay for

This hotel seems to run frequent specials, so if you are just looking for something cheap then book. However the low prices seem to attract a less-than- desirable quality of guest overall. Loud parties going on late at night and screaming in the hallways. The morning breakfast buffet is in a very small restaurant and is swarming with rude, frenzied people bumping into you, reaching in front and over your plate to get the last morsel of food before it runs out. No one seemed to be restocking the buffet or bussing tables. The frost desk people seemed to know absolutely nothing about the hotel or oslo in general. They were unable to answer any sightseeing or transportation questions and upon inquiring about complimentary coffee/tea during the day I was told that i needed to upgrade to a more expensive room in order to be eligible. Two days later there was complimentary tea/coffee suddenly available in the lobby. The rooms were OK, but I would pay extra to stay somewhere better next time.

Perfect location in central Oslo.

Perfect location in central Oslo. Nice clean rooms and good breakfast at a very reasonable price. Tram does run just outside so can be noisy on lower floors at the front. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

If you are holidaying then buy an Oslo pass as it gives free entry to nearly all museums and free transport on buses, trams, underground and some boat trips. Also restaurant discounts.

Decent for the price, but not Nice

This hotel is decent, as in it provides the basic needs. But it should not be advertised as "4-star." I had to call the front desk and ask for shampoo to be brought to my room, and for them to restock the little bowl of instant coffee/teas. The beds were not particularly nice, nor did the housekeeping staff make much effort to clean the room, barely making the bed, and just throwing the floor mat over the bathtub in the bathroom, but not doing anything else (such as replacing the used coffee mugs, actually cleaning the bathroom, etc.) Its in a decent location, but not the nicest.

Oslo is rife with artist-run spaces. Be sure to check out spots like UKS and 1857 for cutting edge contemporary art.
