Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

This hotel is about a 5 minute walk from SM Baguio. You can also walk to the city's center area, where Burnham Park and City Markets are located in maybe 20 minutes or less. If by taxi, maybe less than $2 fare. Also, El Cielito Inn is fairly close to the bus terminal, which is maybe 3-5 minutes away by foot or a very short 35 pesos (less than $1) taxi fare.

Entering the lobby of the El Cielito

Entering the lobby of the El Cielito Inn in Baguio we were pleased to see a neat, stylish entry and waiting area. The impression changed when we saw, and smelled, our two rooms. While comfortably sized for the price there were several problems; a mothball smell in the room, a lack of adequate hot water capacity (there is a friendly notice about the water heater system but it is misleading about the recovery capability). no hot water in her room in the morning, tiny ants on the sheets when we pulled back the covers. The table/desk was not useable as such becasue its design prevented anyone from sitting in the provided chair and putting their legs under the table; there was only about 1-2 inched clearance. My "service"rating reflects on the hotel service and staff who were quite nice and capable but the Voyager restaurant staff was friendly but appeared untrained in restaurant service. The food was very good. Hats off to the chef!!

Great town and great hotel

went to baguio to sightsee and shoot photos. hotel arranged a great guide and price was reasonable. rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and i never had any needs that weren't met. parking is off the street, but just barely, so you'll need someone to 'spot' you as you back out or, better yet, back into your space.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

the mall (i think it was called the "SM Mall") is an easy--though uphill (like everything else in baguio)--walk from the hotel. Breakfast can be outdoors on the balcony overlooking the street going past the hotel. Nice breakfast.

A very good quality hotel, nicely

A very good quality hotel, nicely designed, with helpful staff, and well located just minutes from the main Manila bus terminal, as well as within easy walking distance of the main Session Road with its countless bars and restaurants. Don't expect a very big breakfast however, nor particularly good value for money in accomodation costs. Nonetheless, this hotel is recommended - and a real tonic after any length of time travelling the rice terraces of Banaoui and Sagada.
