Poor service, very far from airport
This is a reasonably nice hotel, but not a great location. It advertises that it is 40 minutes from the airport...but that is only true when there is no traffic in Manila, only from 1 AM to 6 AM. The rest of the time it can be close to two hours. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They failed to give a promised wake up call. They failed to provide a promised shuttle van ride from the airport. They were not very friendly at check in. The rooms are fine, though.

If you don't mind odor smell, it is OK.
Will never stay
Room not cleaned well, odor smell, bad location, far from everywhere and terrible traffic. Over charged me without noticing.

Miserable in Manila
This was the worst traveling experience of my life. I rarely get angry but was in a bad mood my entire time at this expensive toilet. I made my reservations months before on [...]. I show up and they claim I do not have a reservation but have a vacancy they can sell me for a higher rate than I paid on [...]. Fortunately, I had printed out all documentation provided by [...] on their site. They suddenly found my reservation. Took about an hour to get checked in because of their incompetence. Room smelled damp and moldy. Woke up the first morning to no hot water in the shower. Also the shower drain was mostly stopped up. I called and an hour later somebody showed up and said there was hot water. If you leave it run about 5 min one could argue the water gets "warm" but not hot, and not good for a shower—if it makes you gasp for air when you step under the faucet it is too cold. So I waded in very cold water to take a cool shower every morning. Not a good way to start the day.I head down for breakfast and had a glass of milk and a biscuit. I asked the girl if it was free for guests and she said yes. But when I leave another girl wanted me to sign a bill for 749 peso ($17 US). I tried to talk to her and explain I was told it was free, but she pretended she didn't speak English very well and couldn't understand (a common tactic used while they scam you). Since my trip was partly business and I have to keep track of my email I connected to their wireless access they advertised that was available for a "minimal" fee. The "minimal" fee is $13 US per day. That is outrageous. I had no real choice but to pay it since I had obligations to fulfill that required a web connection. I also had to make several local phone calls, but I was suspicious by now, so I called the desk to ask about the charges for local calls. They are $2 US for each local call. It doesn't matter if you connect or not....if you press 9..ka-ching, that dial tone is the sound of you spending $2 US.There is a safe in the room but it is too small to put a laptop.Do not use any of the items in the refrigerator. Around the corner there is a pharmacy where you can buy these items (water, milk, snacks) for about 10% what they will charge you. They will probably charge you for these items anyway, but if you check the bill and contest the charges with your credit card company you won't end up paying the bogus bill.I had made reservations for the following week for a few days. My second visit was no better than the first. Still only warm water and the toilet wouldn't flush. The obnoxious clerk wanted to inspect the room before I wanted to check out at 3AM in the morning. These people will undoubtedly place other fraudulent charges on your credit card. I have just returned home and see bogus charges from the hotel on my credit card activity. Check the bill carefully and contest the fraudulent portion of the charges with your credit card company. Under no circumstances take their shuttle to the airport. They will try to push it on you and imply there is no other option. Walk 50 ft further and take a taxi for 1/3 the price. So stay away from this place. Just pay the extra $50 and stay at a much nicer hotel. They will scam you out of nearly this much every day anyway. Stay away.Overall, the hotel is run down, dirty, with unfamiliar and unpleasant odors from the facility and the staff.I guess I should say something positive -- The fitness center was pretty good and the beds were nice.Miserable in Manila

Taken For a Ride
No Return Customers Here.
The suites are not suites, but an extra room with one chair and one table. I witnessed three different groups of people at the front desk upset, because their internet reservations were lost. Of course, they had rooms at a much higher rate available. Truly stay anywhere, but here..... Has the making of a fine classic, but only if all of management is upgraded.

Really?
The room was very nice, but as i am a big man the sitting chairs were rather uncomfortable; but that is my problem. The Hotel was mentioned to have a breakfast buffet included in the price, I thought, but it was not. Also the hotel has internet but for a cost, which was very surprising at a higher end establishment. Over all it was a nice facility and enjoyable.

Bad staff
It was not the best trip had to Manila. When I checked in the clerk said that my room was smoking. I told her no I reserved a non-smoking room. I showed her a copy of my reservation and then she said that they did not have any non-smoking rooms. I went to the room and it smeelled like someone had smoked a box of cigarates in the room. I have allergies with cigarate smoke and could not stay in the room. I went back down to talk with a manager and was given a non-smoking roon in two minutes. I then asked about the internet and was told it was not free. I said please look at my reservation because it is free. I had to speak with four different people to get the internet free.

Very Nice Hotel
This was a very special trip for me. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked questions and they were always happy to give me a answer. My plane arrived late due to several delays so I wasn't able to check in until after midnight. I would have liked a break on the price, but who wouldn't? The room was clean and quiet. House keeping did a great job, but they forgot to leave clean towels once. A minor detail. All I had to do was call and they brought towels in a matter of minutes. Overall it was a great experience. A very nice location near restaurants and shopping. Being able to walk into a mall right from the hotel was great. I had access to anything I needed. I was able to leave my room and go buy flowers for my fiancee'. It was really nice. The room was clean and big. The bed was comfortable. The 24 hour room service was also very nice. The food was good and wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. House keeping worked around my schedule, which was very nice. They asked when they could clean the room. Very good service. Check out was quick. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Nice stay @ Holiday Inn Galleria Manila
Good location as the Holiday Inn is located at a centralized part of Manila allowing me to reach out and see many friends all over Metro Manila during my vacation. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Nice view on 14th floor looking east to bay. I stayed for a good rate that I got from Orbitz. Only setback was what Holiday Inn charged me for items consumed in room. DO NOT CONSUME SNACKS OR DRINKS FURNISHED BY HOLIDAY INN! Unless you have deep pockets. I will see about staying at Holiday Inn Galleria Manila again.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go to Robinsons Supermarket next to Holiday Inn at Robinsons mall for food and snacks for use while in room as to avoid super high priced items that will rack up on your credit card. Also make sure to get any taxi drivers car no. or ID that picks you up in front of Holiday Inn in case you need to report them to Security at Hotel for overcharging or not taking you to where you were supposed to go.
